J. 13 in Nebraska, sons T.A. 10, (This must be Thomas A.) and J.A. 8 (This must be James Austin 1871-1946 buried in Beloit) born in Nebraska, son E.S. 4 and daughter N. J 1 both born in Kansas.
They're next to T.A. Spratlen 53 born in Virginia and his wife N. 54 born in North Carolina. Their son D. B. is 19, born in Nebraska.

Thomas A. Spratlen and Caroline Hale married in Phillips County, Kansas on April 2, 1890.
This is the second marriage of older Thomas A. Spratlen born in Virginia about 1827, who married Caroline born in Indiana about 1857. This was her first marriage.
Thomas and Caroline are in Phillips County in 1910, living with son Sanford Spratlen.

Caroline was in Buchanan County, Missouri in 1870, age 23, with Jacob C. Hale, 45 and Mary A. 49. Emelia is 21, Michael C. 19, John W. 15, William 9 and Dora E. 5.
Jacob was born in Tennessee, all the others in Indiana.

Mary M. Hale, wife of J.C. Hale died August 16, 1873, buried in Buchanan County # 58524576..

Jacob C. Hale married Elizabeth Crow on December 26, 1873 in Buchanan County.

She was born August 25, 1840 in Buchanan County to Joseph Frakes and Burley Campson born in Missouri. The informant was Mrs. Mollie Duncan. She was to be buried in Troy, Kansas.
August 4, 1910 Troy, Kansas "Mrs. Caroline Spratlen, sister of Mike Hale, came in from Phillipsburg, Kans., last Wednesday and will make her home here with the Hale Bros, and Mrs. Andy Lux of Severance. Mr. 8pratlin died about six weeks ago. Mrs. Mike Hale entertained in honor1, Mrs. Spratlen's 61st birthday Thursday. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Lux, Dlro Hulo and wife, Mrs. Carson, of Highland; Mrs. John Burehet1,! Mm. Wm. Hale, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goss, Goldie Ditte-moie, Prank Burchett, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Hale and Emma Hale."

Mrs T.A. Spratlen of Bethune was the secretary for the District # 1 school board in 1911.

In 1930 Kit Carson County, Thomas A. is farming, widowed.

In 1940 Stratton, Thomas A. Spratlen is widowed, born in Nebraska.

Bernard V. Spratlen, 20, of Burlington, and Dorothey L. Vignery of Goodland Kansas, 18, married in Burlington on December 26, 1925.
FindaGrave # 67944812 " Bernard Spratlen was born October 11, 1905 at Goodland, Kansas to James A. and Anna McCracken Spratlen and died at the Doctor's Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. August 9, 1975. He was 69 years old at the time of his death. Bernard lived most of his life in Kansas City working on the railroads. He was married to Dora Rosner, who is now deceased. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James H. and Arthur Davis Spratlen.
He is survived by two brothers, Jack Spratlen of Anaheim, California, and Ralph, whose address is unknown; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lois Spratlen, and several nieces and nephews."
