When Nancy Catherine Sims died in Stillwater, Oklahoma, in 1927, # 12111246, the obituary mentioned John of Stillwater, Mrs. Leonarora McCall deceased, Lafayette of Cheyenne Wells, Colo, Henry of Agra Kansas, Mrs. Orley Jackson of Stillwater, Walter deceased, Will Sims Stillwater, and Elmer Sims Giliad, Nebraska.

EDNA'S FAMILY

Edna Alice Sims was born April 18, 1887 in Smith County, Kansas to Eleazor and Samantha E. Hodgson.

In 1900 Smith County, Eleazor is 76, born in Ohio, with S.E. 51 Iowa. Gertrude 17, Edna April 1887, Inez 10 and Ivan 10, all four born in Kansas.

Eleazor is buried in Smith County 1824-1906, # 146334745, with his second wife Samantha Emily Hodgson 1849-1927.
Gertrude Day 1883-1912 is also buried there # 55199260, wife of Samuel Lewis Day 1871-1938.
Her husband Samuel is in Washington County, Colorado in 1920, now married to Florence 36 born in Kansas. Vernon is 9 - so he's Gertrude's son, NEPHEW OF EDNA. The land claims, although in an adjoining county, were over thirty miles from James and Edna's claim. Samuel and Florence have two of their own, and Florence's kids ruby Stillman 12, Erma 9, adn Maria M 7 were born in Kansas.

Florence 1884-1920 is buried in Akron, with husbands John Stillman 1877-1913 and Samuel Lewis Day buried in Smith County.

JAMES AND EDNA

In 1910 Smith County, Kansas, James is farming, 35, born in Kentucky, married five years to Edna A. 23 born in Kansas. Marshall F. 4, Lila M. 3, and Howard S. 1 born in Kansas.

James claimed a tract in section 7, 8S 45W, Kit Carson County, in 1914.

He registered for WWI in Kit Carson County, address RFD 1, Bethune, born April 7, 1875, with edna A. Sims.

In 1920 Kit Carson County, James is farming, 44, born in Kentucky, with Edna 32 born in Kansas. Marshall is 14, Marie 12, Howard 10, all three born in Kansas, and Ethel eleven months born in Colorado.
In 1930 Kit Carson County, James is farming, with Edna, Marie 23, Howard S. 21 worklng on the farm, and Ethel L. 19.

In 1940 James 65, Edna 52, and Howard are in Greeley, Colorado.

James Lafayette Sims born April 7, 1875 in Daviess County, Kentucky, died February 19, 1944 in Pueblo, Colorado.

HOWARD

Stanley Howard Sims 1909-1978 is buried in Smith County, # 76317313.

MARSHALL

Marshall F. Sims and A.V. Anderson married on April 9, 1928 in Weld County.

Marshall Francis Sims, born July 9, 1905 in Kansas, died in Kern County, California on March 2, 1989.

MARIE

Lila Marie Sims and Casper Schoenhoff married in Greeley on December 20, 1934.
Casper was born April 20, 1913 in Mountain Lake, Minnesota to Willian Schoenhoff and Sarah Hebert, dying April 15, 2000 in Burlington, Alamance County, North Carolina, to be buried in North Carolina.
(A 1968 obituary of Talmadge Craven in Burlington, N.C. mentions a daughter Mrs. Casper Schoenhoff of Statesville.)
Mrs. Ila Golden Craven Schoenhoff, 88, formerly of 414 West Lee St., Mebane, died at 6:15 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010 at White Oak Manor.
Born in Randolph County, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include a son, Michael Schoenhoff of Burlington; sisters, Esther Lemons of Burlington and Ann Morris of Carrboro; and a brother, George Craven of Efland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Casper Schoenhoff; parents, Talmadge Craven and Viola Saunders Craven; a sister, Lois Cook and two brothers, James Craven and Jacob Craven.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane by the Rev. Ernie Keck. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.


In 1940 Weld County, Casper Schoenhoff is farming, 29, born in Minnesota, with Marie 33 Kansas. Lois 4 and Allen 2 wee born in COlorado.
Lila Marie Hamm 1907-1967 is buried in Cleveland County, Oklahoma # 55426938.
"Mrs. Lila Marie Hamm, 60, of Lexington, died Wednesday, August 23, in her home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Primrose Funeral Home with burial in Lexington Cemetery.
Mrs. Hamm was born in Greeley, Colorado, and moved to Lexington a year ago from Redding, California.
Survivors include her husband, Leland A., of the home; two sons, Allan and James Schoerhoff, both of Wichita, Kansas; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Grant, Wichita, Kansas; six stepsons, Jimmie and Marvin Hamm, Lexington; J.O. Hamm, Cushing; Alfred, De Witt Arkansas; Lonnie, Eugene, Oregon; and Harold, Ringwood; and six stepdaughters, Mrs Fannie Holden and Mrs Fronna Lidditt, both of Lexington, Mrs Loys Hayes, Visalia, California; Mrs Clara Harper, Purcell; Mrs Annis Hoyles, Eugene Oregon; and Mrs Carolyn Skinner, Lewisburg, Missouri."

ETHEL

Ethel Lucile Sims and Walter Wesley Kendricks married in Weld County on February 4, 1935.
They're in Dawes County, Nebraska in 1940, Walter 39, Ethel L. 29, and Frances L. 4 born in Colorado.
Frances, born October 27, 1935 in Greeley, married Joseph R. Shields on August 20, 1953 in Sidney, Montana.
She was in Oelrichs, South Dakota in 1945.

Ethel Lucille (Sims) Hukill 1911-1982 is buried in Dawes County # 40881091, with Walter Eldon Hukill 1906-1985.
