Joseph W. Reece, 8 South 45 West



In 1900 Phillips County, Kansas, Joseph W. Reece is at school, born May 1883 in Missouri, with George Reece born January 1834 and Sarah E. Feb 1841, both born in Delaware. Charley is 27, John 25, and William 23, all born in Missouri.
Joseph cash-claimed a tract in section 21, 8S 45W, Kit Carson County, in 1908.

In 1910, Joseph is farming in Phillips County, and his parents are with him. Sarah has had six kids, five living.

October 1912 "The nine year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Reece, living northwest of this city, died Sunday afternoon. A short funeral service was held at Fairview cemetery Monday afternoon, at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Nelson Gardner, pastor of the Christian church of this city. The Post joins with the many friends of the grief-stricken parents in extending sympathy."

May 1915 Phillipsburg "J. W. Reece, route one, gave us a call on Tuesday and had his mother, Mrs. S. E. Reece, enrolled on our big book. He informed us that about the first of the coming week he would set sail for San Francisco to take in the big fair."

In 1920 Phillipsburg, Kansas, Joseph is working in the railroad shops, and his widowed mother Sarah 77 is with him.

Sarah Reece 1841-1925 is buried in Phillipsburg # 79583108, with George Reece 1834-1913 # 79722846. "Co. B., 12th W.V. Infantry"

Joseph Warren Reece 1882-1934 is also buried in Phillipsburg # 79722938.

His brother John Titus Reece, born August 6, 1874 in Smithton, Missouri, died August 12, 1949, buried in Phillipsburg # 79583426.

Another brother Charles W. Reece 1872-1952 is buried there # 79722725.

Another brother William H. Reece 1877-1954 is buried in Long Island, Kansas.


Thomas Reece proved up two quarters in sections 24 and 25, 6S 51W in 1913.

In 1880 Putnam County, Ohio, Frank H. Reese is farming, 47, Sarah 46, Clark 12, Harry 10, Clayton 8, Ellis 4, Will 2, and a newborn daughter, all born in Ohio.

Clark L. Reece and Mary R. Wineman married on Sept 30, 1894 in Paulding County, Ohio.

In 1900 Paulding County, Mary Reece is with her parents Oliver and Rebecca Wineman. SHe'married but no spouse, born Aug 1873 in Ohio, with Eldo K. born June 1895, all in Ohio.

Clark L. Reece, 36, born in Ohio to Frank H. Reece and Sarah Freeman, married Caroline Weber, 32, born in Canada, father Peter. , on Sept 11, 1904 in Detroit, Michigan.

In 1910 Milford, Oakland County, Michigan, Clark is 42, Carrie 37, with Kenneth e. Reese 14 born in Ohio.

Clark L. Reece proved up a quarter in section 29, 10S 49W in 1917.
Clark is farming in Kit Carson County in 1920, 52 born in Ohio, with Caroline 47 in Canada.

In 1930 Janesville, Greenwood County, Kansas, Clark is farming, 62 born in Ohio, with Delia E. 58 born in Illinois.
Clark is a grocer in 1940 Wichita, Kansas, widowed, in a lodging house.

Kenneth E. Reece and Flossie Kinzer married on June 19, 1918 in Kit Carson County.

Kenneth is in Kit Carson County in 1920, probably Seibert, 4, born in Ohio, no occupation. He's married to Flossie A. 33 born in Kansas, with mary I. three months old.

Kenneth and Flossie are in Wichita, Kansas in 1940, also a grocery, Mary 20 born in Colorado is a clerk for them, and they have Raymond 17 born in Kansas, George 14 and Belva 12 in Utah, and Howard 9 in Kansas.

In 1949 Wichita, Kenneth is a toolmaker at Boeing, with Flossie at 2237 S. Hydraulic Avenue.

Kenneth Reece, born June 20, 1895, died in October 1967, last residence Fontana, California.
"Services for Kenneth E. Reece 2 p.m. today, First Lutheran Church. Fontana; burial, Crestlawn Memorial Park. Norco; Stanley L. Dickey Mortuary, Fontana directing."

Flossie A. Reece, born Feb 14, 1897 in Kansas, died October 23, 1972 in San Bernardino, California.

" Flossie A. Reece, 75, of 15588 Merrill Ave., Fontana, died Monday in a Upland hospital. She was born in Kansas and was a 17-year resident of Fontana. Mrs. Reece was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Fontana. Survivors include two sons, George B., of La Mirada, and Howard L., of Norwalk; two daughters, Mary Cole of Lancaster and Belva Green of Fontana; a sister, Edna Wallace of Colorado; 15 grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. Services will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the First Lutheran Church followed by burial at Crestlawn Memorial Park, Riverside."

Mary Idalia (Reece) Cole 1919-2004 # 19594266, with Loren Earl Cole 1920-1991 buried in Riverside National.
