Clarence Brown was struck by lightning yesterday and killed. He had been rounding up a small stack of grain and had just placed the pitch-fork in the top of it, when a bolt struck him, tearing his face and body, causing instant death. He fell upon his face and was dead when his friends, who were only a few yards away, got to him."

Lafayette, age 88, died August 2, 1942,
and is buried in St. Charles Borromeo, Stratton by one church record, but the Stratton church advised that he was actually buried in Burlington.
Lafayette R. Palmer and Alice M. Sharp married on August 31, 1925 in El Paso County, Colorado.
They divorced in El Paso County in 1926.
In 1928 Lafayette is living in Denver at 3630 W 30th.
Lafayette Radford Palmer at one time received an old age pension from the Kit Carson County commissioners.
