William, a packing house laborer born August 1872 in Iowa, just married to Helen born in Ohio.
Maria, 75, is in Rapid City, South Dakota in 1910, 75, with William 39 and Helen 36 and their two kids.
Katharina M. McFarland died January 7, 1917 in Pennington County, South Dakota.

"Funeral services for John C. McFarland,
who passed away July 12th at his home, R. 4,
Arlington, were held at Mol's chapel Saturday,
July 16th, with Rev. Lauren A. Sheffer
officiating. Burial was in the Arlington cemetery
under direction of A.H. Moll, pallbearers being
Oluf, Sigurd and Mentz Gilbert; August Jacobs,
Gust and Anton Rued.
John C. McFarland was born April 16 1853;
died Arlington, Washington, July 12, 1932,
at the age of 79 years, two months and 26 days.
Born in New York state, his parents moved to Iowa
when he was six years old. While residing in that
state he was married to Lucy A. Burger who survives
him. the couple moved to Colorado in 1905 where they
resided on a homestead for eight years, he serving
for four years as postmaster at Bethune, that state.
In 1913 the family moved to Washington and after
brief periods of residence at Mt. Vernon and
Edgecomb, settled on a farm, R. 4, Arlington,
where deceased had resided for 18 years.
Mr. McFarland is survived by his wife and
eight children, namely:

Mrs. E.W. Salisbury, Boulder, Colorado;
Mrs. Mable L. Bradshaw, Stratton, Colorado;
Jesse H. McFarland, Wray, Colorado;

William P. McFarland, Seattle,
and Mrs. Peggy Brown, R. 4, Arlington."
Lucy McFarland 1858-1935 is also buried
in Snohomish County # 36121221, but it has her in a different cemetery....

In 1912 Frank McFarland and Jesse McFarland of Bethune were witnesses for the claim of Homer Kenney for land in 21, 8S 45W.
Frank claimed two quarters in section 9, 8S 45W in 1913.
Alta Mable (Wurts) Agee
"Alta married John Manning on December 4, 1898 in Garfield County, Colorado, and had two children by
him--Millard and Crystal. She divorced him on May 16, 1910, in Garfield County,
and resumed her maiden name of Alta Wurts.
I was unable to find a marriage record for her and Herbert Howey, but she, Millard, and Crystal are living with him in Meeker in the 1920 census. In 1930, I found her married to Frank McFarland and living in Washington state. On May 22, 1951, Alta M. McFarland published an "In Memoriam" to her mother in the Rifle Telegram. It states "In memory of my mother, Mary M. Wurts, who passed away March 17, 1950." I"

WINNIE
September 14, 1911 "Mr. Noble Bradshaw and
Miss Winnie M. McFarlane both of Stratton
were married at the parsonage on Thursday evening,
Sept. 7th, the Rev. Day afficiating.
The newly wedded couple is ... where they are
spending some days sightseeing, after which they
will return to Stratton where they will make
their home. Mr. and Mrs. Bradshaw are popular young
people, and a large circle of friends unite
in wishing them a happy married life."

"1909-The first mail route out of Bethune went north. Jesse McFarland was the first carrier. Ed Stahlecker was the assistant."
Jesse H. McFarland and Gladys E. Pfaffly married on November 19, 1911 in Kit Carson County.
Jessie proved up a quarter in 35, 8S 46W in 1911, and another quarter in section 2,, 9S 46W in 1913.
In 1918 J.H. McFarland of Stratton is president of School District # 7.
Jessie died May 4, 1960 in Snohomish County, Washington.
He's buried in Snohomish County 1882-1960 # 87212034.

Malinda McFarland and Eugene Lepper married on December 22, 1894 in Woodbury County, Iowa.
Malinda 1877-1948 is buried in Sioux City # 82951789.
"The funeral of Mrs. Malinda Lepper of Chatsworth, Ia. who formerly resided three miles east of Leeds, will be held at 2 p. m. today at the Anderson chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Park cemetery. Mrs. Lepper, wife of the late Ira E. Lepper, died Saturday at a Hawarden, Ia. hospital.
The Leppers were well known to Concord township where they moved in 1891.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lucy McNerney of Hinton, Ia.; two sisters, Mrs. E. W. Salisbury of Boulder, Colo., and Mrs. Noble Bradshaw of Burlington, Colo., three brothers Frank, Will and John McFarland, all of Washington state, a grandson and four great-grandchildren."

"Lucy Amelia McFarlane was born April 23, 1888 at Smithland, Iowa, and passed away December 30, 1946 at the age of 58 years, 8 months and 6 days.
At an early age she moved to Correctionville, Iowa with her parents. There she grew to womanhood and on December 23, 1906 she was united in marriage to Silas Leslie King. Most of their married life was spent on their farm near Kingsley, Iowa. It was there that her eight children were born -- three daughters, Lucille, Elda and Della; five sons, Leslie, Homer, Lyle, Merlin and Harlan. Mr and Mrs.King retired from the farm and moved to Peterson where they lived for eighteen years. Two years ago they moved to Linn Grove.
While residing in Peterson, she attended the Methodist church and was a member of the Amvets Auxiliary of Linn Grove.
After a lingering illness she entered the Spencer Hospital December 16 and passed away there on December 30th. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband and her eight children: her daughers, Mrs. Lucile Whitcombe of Gowrie, Mrs. Elda Kilgore of Linn Grove, Mrs. Della Monckton of Moville; her sons Leslie and Homer of Kingsley, Lyle of Aurelia, Merlyn of Detroit, Michigan, Harlan of the U.S. Army and 116 granchildren. In addition her four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Storey of Peterson, Mrs. Clara Cunningham of Cleghorn, Mrs. Olive McCutchen of Shawnee, Okla., Mable Edwards of Minneapolis, Miss., and one brother, Orville McFarlane, also of Minneapolis, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends."
