"Explosion with Patrick Crane and Percy Kemper; Husband of Anna; Son of A.G. Lofgren. On a Sunday night one of the worst mine accidents in the history of the county occurred near Eureka. The full facts of the dreadful and appalling catastrophe would never be definitely known, as no one was left to tell the tale."

coming here with his wife and three children from Anaconda,
Colorado. Besides carrying life insurance to the
amount of $1,000, Mr. Lofgren was a member of the I. 0. 0. F.
and his widow will receive some assistance from that source.
He was a native of Sweden and 36 years of age."
In 1909 Silverton, Mrs. Anna Lofgren, guardian of the
minor heirs of L.W. Lofgren, spent over one hundred dollars
in improvements upon the Goleta lode mining
claim in the Eureka Mining District, San Juan County.
In 1910 Eureka, Colorado, Anna is 46, widowed, doing hand laundry, with Hilda M. 12, Frank W. 9, and Ruth E. 7.
In 1930 Denver, Anne Lofgren is living on Elati Street, 66, married
but no spouse, born in Sweden, immigrating in 1882, no occupation, living alone.
She's still living alone in 1940 Denver, 76, stating she was widowed.
