Hillers siblings - John, George, Margaret, Frederick, 8 South 45 West
In 1870 Sangamon County, Illinois, Jno. Hillers is 45, Caroline 46, Fred 20, Henry 17, Jno 14, Goerge 12, Margaret 9, Annie 5, Benjamin and Emma 1, and Lizzie 14.
In 1880 Sangamon County, Illinois, John Hillis is farming, 53,
with Caroline 53, George 21, all three born in Germany,
Anna 15, Beey 12, Emma 12, and Caroline 7 in Illinois.
John is buried in Sangamon County # 37793512 "He was born Johann Hinrichs Hillers to Hinrich Hillers and Wübke Margarethe Wobbenhorst in Hesel, Ostfriesland, Germany. Hesel is now a municipality in Leer district. It is situated approximately 12 km (7.5 mi) northeast of Leer, and 25 km (16 mi) east of Emden.
He Americanized his first name to John and kept the German spelling of his surname. Some of his children changed their surnames to Hiller, dropping the letter s.
He was married to Engel Margaretha Rahmann in Hesel on 9 Apr 1850. She Americanized her name to Anna Margaret.
On 16 Oct 1862, Johann and Engel Margaretha immigrated to the US with their children: Heinrich Friedrich (Fred), Johann Heinrich(He died of typhoid in 1879),Johann Berends (John), Gerdes Janssen (George Jansen), Wübke Margaretha (Margaret and sometimes Maggie. Her father called her Meta); Bernhardt He died before 1870.); and Johanna Katharina (Anna Catherine). Another son, Johann Behrends died as a small child in 1852 before the family immigrated.
They settled in Sangamon County, Illinois. They first lived in Curran Township and then later in Woodside Township. John was a farmer in Germany and continued his occupation of farming in Illinois.
Anna died about 1866 and is probably buried in Old Salem Cemetery in Sangamon County, Illinois. There has been no stone found for her.
On 10 Jan 1867, John married a widow, Caroline nee Kleinhans Eden in Sangamon County, Illinois. They had 3 children: Twins: Engel Margaretha (Emma Margaret) and Behrent Eiden (Benjamin) and Anna Karoline (Carrie)."
MARGARET
In 1900 Kit Carson County, George Hendricks is stock raising, born Feb 1856 in Germany, with Maggie Sept 1861 Germany. Henry May 1884, John W. Nov 1888, Annie Aug 1889, and Mamie Dec 1892 were born in Illinois, George W. Oct 1894, Clare C. Feb 1897, and Frank E. Nov 1898 were born in Colorado.
George proved up a quarter in section 4, 8S 44W in 1901.
George 1894-1903 died of scarlet fever, and is buried in Burlington # 89520300.
Frank 1898-1903 died of scarlet fever, and is buried in Burlington # 89520237.l
Clara 1897-1904 died of scarlet fever, and was buried in Burlington # 89520150.
They're in Boulder County in 1910, farming, with Anna 20, Margaret 17, ernest 9, and Edward 3.
In 1920 Boulder County, George is 63, Margaret 58, Edward 13. Grandson Frank Swaisgood is 8, bonr in Colorado, George Swaisgood 3 in Illinois.
(Margaret Hendricks Swaisgood
was born in Springfield, Illinois December 10, 1892.
. Later her father moved the family to Kit Carson Co, Colorado.
He later moved to Boulder Co, Colorado. Margaret married Ralph Kepler
Swaisgood on 11 Dec 1910 in Boulder, Boulder Co, Colorado.
She had two sons: Frank Raymond and George Wilson. Ralph moved his family back to Ashland,
Ashland Co, Ohio where many of his family members lived.
Margaret died there of peritonitis. Her body was returned to Colorado to be
buried in Columbia Cemetery in Boulder Co. Her sons were raised by her mother and father. "

"She used the name Margaret but was called Meta by her parents and Maggie by others.
They first settled for a short time in Madison Co, Illinois, then moved to Sangamon Co, Illinois in the Woodside Township. On 4 Jan 1881 in Springfield, Sangamon Co, Illinois, she married George Hinrichs (born Ufke Gerard Hinrichs who later changed to George Hendricks). Their first child Emma Margaretha was born there in 1882 and died in the area in 1892. Four other children were born in Springfield also: Henry in 1884, John William in 1887, Anna Maria in 1889, and Margaret J. in 1892. They then moved to Kit Carson Co, Colorado where 4 more children were born: George W in 1894, Clara C in 1897, Frank E in 1898, Ernest F in 1900. They then moved to Boulder Co, Colorado where Edward Benjamin was born in 1906.
Margaret and George stayed in Boulder the rest of their lives. Margaret died of bronchial pneumonia there and was buried 12 Mar 1923 in Columbia Cemetery in Boulder.

John proved up a quarter in section 24,
8S 45W, Kit Carson County, in 1893.
He timber-claimed a quarter in 12, 9S 47W in 1895.
John is buried in Washita County, Oklahoma # 12775386.
"John Berends Hillers married Flora Augusta Strite on 13 Aug 1878 in Montgomery County, Illinois. He moved his family to Nebraska
in the middle 1880s; then a few years later to Colorado; then to Missouri, and finally to Oklahoma where he died. He probably joined other family members to these other locations because his brother George lived in Nebraska, sister Margaret lived in Colorado, and stepbrother Ben lived in Missouri.
John Berends's mother died about 1866 in Sangamon County, Illinois. His father remarried a widow, Caroline nee Kleinhans Eden on 10 Jan 1867 in Sangamon County, Illinois. From that union, John B. got stepsiblings: Engel Margaretha (Emma Margaret), Behrent Eiden(Benjamin Eiden), Anna Karoline (Carrie).
John and Flora had 5 children: Annie born 1879, Henry Grover born 1885, Flora M born 1888, William McKinley born 1900, Ione born 1905."
FREDERICK
Frederick Hillers cash-claimed a quarter in 32, 7S 44W
in February 1891, and another in section 8, 8S 44W in March 1891.
He might be the Fredrick Hillers farming
in 1900 Gage County, Nebraska,
born July 1856 in Germany, married 14 years to Rosina April 1858 in Germany. Emama Jul y1890 and Henry Feb 1897 were born in Nebraska. Rosina had had four children, two living.
Fred is widowed in 1910 Crawford County, Kansas, 58, farming with broether Ben C. 40 born in Illinois, on with Emma 19 and Henry 13.
(Ben is on his second marrieage to Anna C. 28), with John F. froom his first marriage and three from the marriage to Anna.
Heinrich Friedrich Hillers 1850-1925 died
in Beatrice, Nebraska, and is buried there # 126590219.
"Fred first married Mary Hemis (formerly married to a Hines and then a Hickman) on 6 Apr 1885 in Sangamon County, Illinois. She filed for divorce and was granted a divorce on 10 Sep 1886 on the grounds that he deserted her and committed adultery with Rosina Schlag while still married to her.
Fred married Rosina Schlag on 6 Jun 1885 in Saint Louis, Saint Louis County, Missouri. They moved to Nebraska to Gage County where Fred's brother, George was living. They had two children: Emma E. Hillers and Henry Schlag Hillers. Rosina died in Gage County about 1901-1904. She is probably buried in Lewiston Cemetery, but no stone has been found.
Fred took his children and moved to Crawford County, Kansas where his stepbrother Benjamin lived.
On 4 Oct 1905, he married Hannah Van Doren
in Sangamon County, Illinois. Hannah was
the sister of Benjamin's wife, Anna."
Henry S. Hillers 1896-1980, mother Schlag, born Feb 13, 1896 in Nebraska, died Nov 10, 1980 in San Diego California,
is buried in Pawnee County, Nebraska # 79676994.
He was born at Pickerel, Nebaraska,
and in August 1917, at Portland, Maine, a soldier, age 21, married Gertrude (Kinney( Smith 24 born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, first marriage for both.
GEORGE
George Hillers and Sophia Harms married in Sangamon County, Illinois on Sept 3, 1881.
George Hillers proved up a quarter in 19, 8S 44W in 1892.
In 1900 Pawnee County, Nebraska, George Hillers is farming,
born Dec 1858 in Germany, immigrating in 1862. He's married 19 years
to Sopha Feb 1857 Illinois. They said Katy March 1882, John A. Nov 1883,
Emma April 1887, George Sept 8989, Rose Sept 1891,
and Freddie H. Dec 1893 were all born in Illinois (although one tree said Rose was born at Burlington, Colorado.)
