" Mrs. Minerva A. Brittain Locking Spouse Out
Judge H. C. Spicer Saturday signed an injunction restraining Mrs. Minerva A. Brittain, 64 Wigley av., from locking the door against her husband, Thomas R. Brittain, now boarding on the Masslllon rd. Mrs. Brittain said she would.. declared she would no longer live with him. He is 54, a member of the old Brittain family of Springfield tp., and has been paralyzed on hla left side for some time. He was formerly a contractor but failed in business during the late support three minor children, and had older children working and to compel the five grown sons and daughters to support their father. Judge Spicer also told Brittain that he had a right to enter his home, by force if necessary, but advised him to delay his return until Mrs. Erlttaln had a chance to meditate on the whole situation. Brittain said he would wait a few days

September 28, 1931 Akron "Mrs. Minerva A. Brittain, 60, wife of Thomas Brittain, died Sunday at her home, 54 Wigley av. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Miriam Brittain and Mrs. George Masino, and six sons, Glenn, Donald, Merton, Earl and Kenneth, all of Akron, and Walter of Buffalo. 1 sister, Mrs. Thomas Cocklin of Middlebranch, Ohio, 2 brothers, William White of Pennsyvania, Charles of Akron. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. at East Market St. Reformed church, and burial will be in Snyder's cemetery."

Thomas is on the same tombstone in Saint Jacobs Lutheran Cemetery, Stark County, Ohio 1871-1936 # 40978130.

Thomas Reno - The paralysis he had was caused by a stroke. His wife, Minerva, was a rather hateful person and would not care for him and had him put in the Massillon Mental Hospital. Clement Chew got him out and took him to his home for a time. Then Tom's son, Merton, finally took him. They lived on Stettler Ave. The children were too young to care for him when had the stroke.
Thomas sold shoe strings and pencils to help pay his way when he lived with his son.

Brittain, Thomas R., 65 years, passed away at his home, 54 Wigley Ave., Sunday, April 5.

Survived by two daughters, Mrs. George Masino, Miss Miram E. Brittain; six sons, Glenn, Donald, Merton, Earl, and Kenneth, all of Akron; Walter of Buffalo; four brothers, Meade, Akron; Judson, Tallmadge; Frank, Lakemore; John, and one sister, Mrs. Dilla Chew, both of Cleveland.

Funeral services Wednesday 2 P.M. at the Eckard Funeral Home, Rev. E. D. Fager officiating. Burial Snyder Cemetery. Member of the Fifty Year Club. Friends may call at the Eckard Funeral Home.
