"A graveside service will be held for Freeman C. Button, 92, of Coos Bay, at noon Thursday, Aug. 21, at Sunset Memorial Park, 63060 Millington Frontage Road in Coos Bay with pastor Vern Pruitt, of New Horizon Church of God, officiating.
Freeman was born, next to the youngest of 12 children, Nov. 30, 1921, in Aroya, Calif. (SHOULD BE COLORADO), the son of Horace and Anna Button. He passed away Aug. 18, 2014, in Coos Bay.
In 1929, when he was 8 years old, Freeman moved to Oregon, settling with his family in Marshfield. He was raised on the Oregon coast, where he met and married his wife, Marjorie and they raised their five children. Freeman spent time working in the woods, Evans Product Company and also at Cape Arago Lumber Company where he was employed 21 years.
He is survived by two brothers; two sons; one daughter; one stepson; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Freeman was preceded in death by his parents; wife; four brothers; five sisters; two sons; four stepchildren and grandson."
Arlie Lee Button born October 15, 1924, died March 24, 1994 in Yamhill County, Oregon.
