Emeline claimed a quarter in section 1, 2S 43W in December 1890.
TRUMAN'S FAMILY
He might be the Truman Wilcher, age 10, in 1860 Rock Island County,
Illinois. Patrick H. Wilcher is 43, Martha 33, Ezra 15,
Horace 13, Josiah 12, Truman 10, Henry 8, Sarah 5, John 3,
and Catherine six months.
Martha Perdue and P. H. WIlcher had married in Warren County, Illinois on December 17, 1842.
In 1870 Lucas County, Iowa, Patrick is farming, 53, Julia 36, Harris
Harris 22, "Forman" 18, Henry 16, Sarah 14, John 12, Catherine 10, Erskin 11, Oscar 11, James 6, Gran5 4, Maria 20 born in Indiana, and Mary one month is Iowa.
In 1880, "Henry" Wilcher is back in Warren County,
Illinois, 63, now married to Sousannah 43,
with Grant 13, Dellia and Morris both 3, born in Illinois.
Stepson Marshal Meadows, 12 is with them.
TRUMAN AND EMELINE
Truman Wilcher, 27, married Mollie Owens, 20, on January 12, 1879 in Clarke County, Iowa.
In 1880 Warren County, Illinois, Truman is farming, 28,
with Mary 22. Henry Wilcher 26 is widowed, a boarder, also farming.
On the same census page are Josiah Wilcher 84 and Jane 75, farming.
In 1885 Seward County, Nebraska, Truman is farming, 30,
with Mary 26, Roy 5, Elnora 3, and newborn Cora.
Cora Wilcher, born in Crete, Nebraska, married Clifton Ledbetter Taylor, whose daughter Mary Bernice Taylor Gill was born July 19, 1913 in Chicago,
In 1900 Clarke County, Iowa, Truman is a teamster,
born May 1853 in Illinois, married 21 years to Mary D. Feb 1860
Iowa. Roy T. June 1880 Illinois, Elnon December 1882 Iowa, Cora B. Aug 1884,
Edna Dec 1887, and Clyde May 1890- all three born in Nebraska.
In 1910 Adair County, Iowa, Truman "has own income" 54, born iN Illinois, Mary 44 Iowa, with Edna 22 and Clyde 19 both born in Nebraska.
Edna Welcher, 23, born in Nebraska, married CErnest Millhollin, 23 on August 23, 1911 in Union County, Iowa.
Mary Deliah Welcher, wife of Truman B. Welcher,
born February 16, 1857 in Lucas County, Iowa,
daughter of Newson Owens,
died March 9, 1930 in Greenfield, Adair County, Iowa.
Mary 1857-1930 is buried in Greenfield # 53942741, on the same stone as
Truman 1855-1933 # 53942747.
