In 1870 Hancock County, Illinois, Christian Troutfetter is a butcher, 38, with Elizabeth 33, both born in Germany. Meena is 14, born in Iowa, Mary 12, Philip 5, and William 2 in Illinois.

1886 Thomas County, Kansas "Phil Troutfetter went to Oberlin Tuesday."

April 1886 Lincoln, Nebraska "Phil Troutfetter and his sister, Mrs. A. J. Senter, of Colby Kansas are in the city visiting their many friends."

April 1887 Thomas County "J. B. McGonigal went to Oakley Tuesday. He was accompanied by Phil Troutfetter who goes to Cheyenne Wells and Lowell looking for a location."

September 1887 Thomas County, Kansas "Phillip Troutfetter was in from Bulington, Colorado this week. He reports every thing moving along nicely there."

July 1888 Thomas County, Kansas "Phil Troutfetter is in from Burlington this week."

August 1888 Burlington Blade "Phil Troutfetter, George Senter, and John Jenkins have started overland for New Mexico. The boys expect to find a mine where gold can be chopped out in solid chunks."

Philip claimed a tract in section 31, 8S 43W in 1890.


May 1890 Colby Kansas "Phil Troutfetter of the Tribune took the Rock Island train yesterday evening for a trip to Topeka and other points in the eastern part of this state."

In February 1891 the Colby Tribune merged with the Thomas County Cat with P.A. Troutfetter, editor and poublisher.

1895 "Colby has not had a dance since Phil Troutfetter introduced the bicycle there two years ago. "

In 1895 the Colby, Thomas County, Kansas census has a P. A. Troutfetter, 29 born in Illinois.
He is a printer, coming to Kansas from Nebraska.
P.A. Troutfetter was owner of the Colby Tribune, succeeded by Norton A. Turner in 1896.
A hand-written card in the Colorado marriage index has Phillip A. Troutfetter and Violet Baker marrying February 19, 1897, by J.P. Wm. H. Hunt. No county is listed on these cards.

One post says "The Troutfetters were divorced in 1901 in El Paso County, Colorado. There are no documents indicating they married again and P. A. (better known as Philip) at some point returned to Thomas County, Kansas, where he died."

Boston, Mass., April 10, 1902
Detectives assisted by the Boston Inspector have captured Philip A. Troutfetter, alias A. P. Taylor, on a warrant charging him with being a fugitive from justice from Colorado Springs, but the police say the man is also wanted in connection with the cases of Neely and Rathbone in the Cuban postal frauds charges.
Troutfetter is said to be under a charge of larceny of $1,150 from Emiline Baker of Colorado Springs, in April, 1898. It is said he received the money for purposes of investment and devoted it to his personal use."

So are Christian 1830-1917 # 34232051, and Elizabeth 1835-1919.

In 1927 Denver, Violet B. (wid P.A.) is living at 1625 Pennsylvania.
In 1929 Denver, Violet B. (wid Phil A.) is living at 1928 Grant.

Minnie Senter is in North Platte Nebraska in 1900, born January 1856 in Illinois, married 17 years to Addison Senter. They have Harold 11, Alta 7, and Faith 3.

Minnie Anna (Troutfetter) Senter 1856-1941 is buried in Denver # 92588065, with Addison 1852-1943.

Mary might have married Ernest E. Boerner. Their daughter Irma Elizabeth married Dr. Murray Eddy in 1921 and moved to Hays, Kansas.

In 1900 Thomas County, Kansas, Earnest is 42, Mary C. 41, Oscar C. 10, Lloyd E. 8, Edna M. 7, and Emma E. 3.
Mary 1857-1925 is buried in Colby # 25843852, with Ernest 1858-1927 3 25843801.

In 1910 Cripple Creek, Colorado, William Troutfetter is a freight office cashier, 41, born in Illinois, with Anna 26 Colorado. Victor is 4. Anna's father Edward Merrifield 71, is widowed, born in England.

William Troutfetter is in Douglas County, Colorado in 1920, 51, born in Illinois, with Anna 34 Colorado, and Victor 14 born in Colorado.

Will Troutfetter 1868-1936 is buried in Denver # 90277030, with Anna 1884-1962 # 90277052.
