In 1860 Orpha Ruby is in Washington County, Nebraska Territory, 14, with Thomas 56 and Miranda 46. Orson is 14, Lucy 13, and Andrew J. 9.

Thomas Banks and Orpha Ruby, both of Douglas County, married there Septemer 26, 1865.

In 1880 Omaha, Orpha Banks is widowed, 33, with Charles 17, John and Emily 9, Jefferson 5, and Perley May 2, all born in Nebraska.

Orpha Ruby married William Pond in Omaha in January 1884, per one tree, and he died in 1887.

In 1885 Orpha Pond is 38, born in Michigan, with Clide Pond eight months. Chas is 17, Emily 14, John 14, Jefferson 10, and Perla 7. A borther Andrew Ruby 30 with Freddie 6 and Arthur 3 are also in the household.

Orpha Pond is widowed in 1900 Omaha, born Novemer 1848 in Michigan, with Charles Banks April 1868 in Nebraska, also widowed. John Banks Nov 1870, Thomas January 1874, (all three are teamsters) Clyde Pond August 1884, and grandson Willie Banks Dec 1896 Nebraska.

Orpha's brother Orville Charles Ruby 1810-1908 is buried in Omaha # 22823735.

Orpha Banks is widowed in 1910 Omaha, with John 39 and Willie 14 with her.

Orpha B. Pond - November 4, 1845-March 23, 1914 is buried in Omaha # 68739359.

John Banks 1870-1917 is buried in Omaha # 9474416.

Elsie Shipley of Florence and Will H. Thomas of Omaha got a marriage license in Omaha in April 1899.
Jacob is farming in 1900 Douglas County, Nebraska, born July 1862, with Emily Nov 1876, Bert Dec 1888, Myrtle Dec 1889, Earnest Feb 1892, Ethel Aug 1895, and Maud Feb 1899, all born in Nebraska.

" Harold Valentine "Babe" Shipley, 63, died Monday, May 24, 1976 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held in the First Baptist Church of Gillette Friday, May 28 at 2 pm with the Rev. Roy Plummer officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery at Gillette.
He was born in Florence, Nebr., on October 17, 1913 to Jacob V. Shipley and Emily Banks Shipley.
The family moved to Gillette about 1934 where Shipley went into the trucking and house moving business. He owned and operated the first drive-in theatre in Gillette a number of years ago, and owned the B & B Trailer Court in Gillette for the past several years.
He was a charter member of the Gillette Aerie Lodge 2711 and was active in various community affairs.
He married Hattie Belle Gardner on June 8, 1939 in Scottsbluff, Nebr.
He is survived by his widow, Hattie Belle of Gillette, two sons, Bob and Harold Jr., both of Gillette, three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Betty)Mathisen of Buffalo, Mrs. Bruce (Pat)Brown of Vernal, Utah, and Mrs. Manuel (Vicki)Ruiz of Gillette, one brother, TJ "Bud" Shipley of Douglas, two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Fern Suchta of Buffalo and Mrs. Maude Curtis of Casper, 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews."

"Frank and Betty Mathisen of Gillette passed away at Close to Home Hospice on Monday, April 9, 2018, and Thursday, April 19, 2018, respectively.
Frank Arnold Mathisen was born April 11, 1934, in Buffalo, the son of Arnold Milton 'Whitey' Mathisen and Ann Marie Abram.
Betty Jean Shipley was born Sept. 23, 1935, in Gilman City, Missouri, the daughter of Harold 'Babe' Valentine Shipley and Hattie Belle Gardner.  "

"Louise Sucha-Thomann, 86, of Flagstaff died peacefully after a long illness January 8, 2012 at the Olivia White Hospice House, surrounded by her family and friends. Louise was born Erna Lou Shipley to Ernest and Louise Shipley on September 26, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska. She spent her childhood in Gillette, Wyoming, moving back to Omaha for her high school years. After graduating, she met and married Donald Bowley by whom she had one son, Daniel. When Daniel became seriously ill in the late 50's, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona under doctor's orders. In the early 80's, she moved to her favorite place on earth, Flagstaff. There she would later marry her longtime friend James A. Sucha. After his death, she met and married Dennis Thomann of Flagstaff. Dennis passed away in 2010."

"Benjamin D. Shipley, born 10 Feb 1912 at Scottsbluff, NE, son of Thomas Lafayette Shipley (22 Mar 1885 - 20 Mar 1969) and Sarah "Edith" Turpin (31 Jan 1888 - 16 Jan 1984). Thomas and Edith were married 9 Jul 1907 in Florence, Douglas Co., NE.
Sarah "Edith" Turpin was born in Bevington, Madison Co., IA, to Zachariah Turpin and Emma Laughlin.
Thomas Lafayette Shipley was born in Douglas Co., NE, to David Virgil Shipley and Salina Isabel Powell. Both Thomas and Emma died in Omaha, Douglas Co., NE.
They had children: Bernice Rachel; Alfred Dean Kenneth, born 1 Sep 1911; Fayette Marian "Fay", born abt 1911; Benjamin D., born 10 Feb 1912 at Scottsbluff Co., NE, died 21 Sep 1973; Edith Emma, born 12 May 1922."
