In 1880 Will County, Abner 53 and Charlotte 48 have Truman 21, Helen 19, Abner 18, Irving 14, and Charlotte 12.
Jonathan claimed a quarter in section 13, 8S 43W in 1890.
In 1910 John Royce is in Kane County, Illinois, 44, born in Illinois, boarding with Henry H. and Hattie H. Smith, both 40.
John I. Royce is in Cheboygan County, Michigan in 1920, 54, farming,
boarding with Henry and Harriet Smith, both 51.
January 1925 Cheboygan "J. I. Royce is laid up for a few days, having smashed his foot while unloading freight one day last week."
In 1930 Cheboygan County, "Johanton Rayle" is 64, still boarding with Henry S. and Hattie K. Smith, both 62.
"He was unmarried and has made his home for over 30 years with his life long friends Mr. and Mrs. Henry S. Smith."
