In 1880 Fremont County, Colorado, "Wash Parkins" is a teamster, 47, born in Ohio, Melissa 35 born in Illinois, Millie 14 in Kansas, Hattie 10 in Missouri, and Anna 7 and Eddie 4 in Indian Territory.

Amelia F. Stiles, b. Feb. 9, 1826; m. J. B. Stansell (b. at Green Oak, Mich., 1825), at White Lake, Mich., Feb. 22, 1847. Mr. S. was one of a large number who went at an early day from Chicago to Pike's Peak. He there prospected for gold, and obtained mines which paid him richly. He was, at one time, rep. from Denver, Col. Issue: (1) Frank (Stansell), b. at Greenbush, Mich., Dec. 8, 1847; edu¬cated at the Univer. of Notre Dame, Ind., where be developed a talent and decided preference for the stage as a profession, and acquired some fame as an actor at Chicago, St. Louis and other cities; (2) Edward B. (Stansell), b. Apr. 16, 1851, at Chicago; (3) Charles J. (Stansell), b. Mch. 5, 1854."

November 1883 Leadville "On the fourteenth instant, Justice OBrien married E. B. Stansell and Millie J. Parkins. This is the ninety-third couple united in the bonds of matrimony by Justice OBrien during his term of office."

Fairplay, Colorado, November 1879 "The Crescent mine, located on Buckskin gulch, on the Mount Bross slope, opposite the Fanny Barret and close to the Ten-Forty, was sold by E. B. Stansell to Congressman W. M. Springer, of Illinois, and a party of Chicago capitalists, for $5,000 cash. The Crescent shows a twenty foot streak of mineralized porphyry and lime. It was first prospected some three years ago and then yielded small lots of very high grade ore."

"On June 30 an inexperienced J.B. Stansell, who owned some of the richest claims on the Phillips Lode along with his partners N.J. Bond, and H.H. Harris, asked for the mining public's advice on how to improve the gold recovery rate of their daily operations. I believe that Dr. John Parsons answered Stansell's call for advice. Gold bearing dirt dug from the site was washed in a sluice or tom. Later on the tailings, which included pieces of quartz, were crushed to recover more gold.
In September of 1861, Stansell showed the editor of the Miners Record an example of Parsons' quarter eagle. " We were shown one day this week by J.B. Stansell, Esq., some new coin of the denomination of two dollars and a half, which was coined by Dr. J. Parsons of Tarryall mines. The specimens we saw were the first that had been coined, and although they were not as even and perfect in form as is usual in gold coin, were fair samples of Pike's Peak coinage. The designs on this denomination are, on one side the American Eagle in the centre with the words "Pike's Peak Gold, 2 'A doll." encircling it; on the other a representation of a six stamp quartz mill, with the words J. Parson & Co., Oro. We understand Dr. Parsons designs removing his coining machinery to Buckskin Joe, where he will establish a mint for the coinage of gold of different denominations. "
In 1900 El Paso, Texas, Edward B. Stansell is a miner, born April 1854 in Illinois, married eight years to Annie Sept 1871 Colorado. They have Nicholas R. Nov 1895 born in New Mexico.

1910 El Paso "Friends of Mrs. E. B. Stansell and son gave them a surprise Thursday night to bid them goodbye for the summer. Mrs. Stansell leaves In a few days with her son for Colorado Springs, where she will spend the summer with relatives and friends. Mr. Stansell will join them a little later. "

Nicholas - Nov 20, 1895 - Nov 7, 1972 is buried in Willamette National # 3935803.

May 16, 1887 Leadville "The funeral of little Eddie Parkins, which took place on Sunday afternoon last under the direction of Walley & Nelson was attended by a large number of the friends of the family. Deceased was killed on Friday last by the accidental discharge of a rifle, which had not been flred for a year previous. His little sister who became alarmed at his absence started out in search of him, and stumbled over his body, which was lying in a pool of blood. Mr. Parkins has been in the employ of W. J. Molkin & Co. for some time, and the tribute to his dead boy is an evidence of the high esteem in which he was held by all who knew him."

1887 Leadville " Miss Anna Parkins leaves this morning for Breckenridge to attend the Catholic school. She will be absent at least six months."

Sterling, Colorado May 1900 "Jack Parkins came in from Denver this mormng i or a visit with relatives and old friends."
