In 1870 McDonough County, Illinois, Emeline is 39, no spouse, with son C. McWhinney 15 a farmer. Mary is 13, Edward 11, and Alfred 9.
Emeline McWhinney married Jacob Hobbs on May 30, 1872 in McDonough County, Illlinois.
In 1880 McDonough County, Emeline is widowed, 49, with Mary 23 and Edwin 21.
Clinton McWhinney was in Seward County, Nebraska in 1880, farming, boarding with the Henr Stonscher 31 and Eliza Jane 33
Clinton A. McWhinney and Ida L. Cope married in McDonough County on March 16, 1881.
(Clinton's son Roy was in McDonough County in 1900, born November 1883 in Nebraska, with mother Ida Nov 1862 in Illinois, widowed. Alfred McWhinney is with them, born November 1862 in Illinois.

Emeline (Peck) McWhinney 1830-1888 is buried in Good Hope, McDonough County, Illinois, with Samuel McWhinne 1817-1863.
Emeline claimed a quarter in section 1, 8S 43W in 1890. This was next to Hellen Hurley and Melissa Perkis, about the same time.

Alice Houston McWhinney, 103, of Denver, Cob., formerly of Rushville, died Dec. 10, 1998, in Denver.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.rn. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at the Sugar Grove North Cemetery north of Rushville with Father Lewis A. Payne of St. Clare?s Episcopal Mission, Rushville, officiating. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Oct.16, 1895, in Kansas City, Mo., to the late William Rodney and Madeline Peironett Barse Houston. She married Leroy McWhinney Oct.16, 1920, in Kansas City. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Denver Country Club and the Garden Club of Denver and America.
She is survived by four daughters, Madeline Dale of Red Bank, N.J., Cope Craven of Poughkeepsie, NY, Ann Watson of Denver, Colo., and Susan McWhinney-Morse of Boston, Mass.; two sons, William of Venice, Calif., and Rodney of Santa Fe, N.M.; 19 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Leroy McWhinney, Jr. "
EDWIN
E.S. McWhinney, 23, married Nettie M. Calder, 21 on August 17, 1882 in Tamora, Nebraska, registered in Seward County.
He's a dry goods dealer in Alliance, Nebraska in 1900, with
Nettie 39, Clyde 15, Grace 13, and Belle Armstrong, 32, who works in the store.
Their son Guy 1883-1885 drowned in Seward County, and is buried in Tamora # 113525290.
In 1880 McDonough County, Illinois, William Hurley is 45, Joanna 44, Mary Hurley is 22, Ellen 20, Helen 18.
