Alfred King died at the home of his grand-daughter, Mrs. J.H. Fanning (Nina Eugenie Valin DeGriselles), near Nemaha, Saturday, January 13, 1906. He was born Dec. 6, 1816, in Dickleburgh, county of Norfolk, England
. He was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Catchpole in 1839 (actually 1840! - Nick).
To this union two children were born, a daughter Sarah Ann in England and a son Charles W in America.
Mr King and family came to America in 1846 locating in Grant county, Wisconsin.
His wife dying in 1864, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Rowena C. Hunnewell
at Cassville in 1868. Five years later, they removed to Buena Vista county, Iowa,
settling in a farm in Maple Valley township. Shortly after this they moved to
Storm Lake at which place they made their home until the fall of 1899 when they
moved to Des Moines. In 1900 they moved to Okmilgee, Indian Territory,
remaining there until September 1905, when they returned to make their
home with their granddaughter, Mrs. J.H. Fanning (Nina Eugenie Valin DeGriselles),
where Mr. King died January 13, 1906, at the ripe old age of eighty-nine years,
one month and seven days. When a young man Mr. King united with the Methodist
Episcopal church and later with the Adventist. He lived a devoted Christian life
He was a loving husband and father and was loved and respected by all who knew him
He leaves an aged wife who lives with Mrs. J.H. Fanning
(Nina Eugenie Valin DeGriselles), and a son (Charles W King) in Salt Lake City, Utah,
to mourn his death, his daughter having preceded Mr. King eleven years.
He leaves also ten grand-children and eleven great grand-children to
mourn his demise. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Knoer at the
Methodist Episcopal church in Nemaha at 11 a.m. Monday, January 15.
The bereaved have the sympathy of the Pilot Tribune and community in
this great affliction."

In 1880 Delaware County, Iowa, Silas "Kenny" is 35, born in Vermont, "Deete" 34 in New York. Edwin 12, Homer 11, Alice 9, Solomon 8 and Fredrick 1 were born in IOwa.
In 1895 Sioux City, Iowa, Silas S. "Kinney" and Deette are both 50, with Edward C. 28, Homer 26, Solomon 23, and Fred 16.
Silas Kemp Kenney, born 1844 in Canada, died August 3, 1900, and is buried in Sioux City Iowa # 8882574.
He was in the 9th Iowa Cavalry, a wagoner.
Deette Kenny claimed a quarter in section 20, 8S 45W in 1909.
DaEtta Kenney is in Kit Carson County, in 1910, 65, widowed, born in New York. Her five kids are still living.
SOLOMON
In 1900 Plymouth County, Iowa, Solomon is 28, living with brother Edward D. 33,
born in Iowa, Dora A. 21 Ohio, Earnest 4 and Alice D. 1 both born in Iowa.
In 1910 Kit Carson County, Solomon "Kenny" is farming, 37, born in Iowa, father in Pennsylvania, mother in Canada.
Sollie Kenney of Burlington filed notice of intention for land in section 25, 8S 43W. Witnesses were Fred S. Flexer, of Burlington, Thos A. Spratler and Ernest W. Petty of Bethune, and George D. Powers of Burlington.
Solomon C. Kinney, born February 26, 1872 in Iowa, died December 24, 1918 in Sioux City Iowa.

Fred is a laborer in 1900 Woodbury County,
born December 1878, living with Matt Davis 42 born in Illinois
and Kate Davis 34 born in Wisconsin.
In 1910 Kit Carson County, next to Solomon, Fred Kenny 31 born in Iowa, single.
Fred claimed a quarter in section 21, 8S 45W in 1911.
In 1930 Aitkin County, Minnesota, Fred is 52, with widowed sister Alice M. Dewey 59, both born in Iowa. Neigher have occupations.
Alice May Kenney, born in Iowa and Joseph Wilmot Dewey,
born at Harvard Junction, Illinois, had Helen Leone Dewey on June 29, 1910 in Sioux City Iowa.
They're in Gregory County, South Dakota in 1920, Joseph 54, Alice M. 49, Clyde 20, Bill16, and Helen L. 9.
Clyde died March 6, 1927, and is buried in Aitkin County, Minnesota # 90164147.
J.W. Dewey 1866-1927 is also buried there # 90164163.
Alice M. Dewey 1870-1939 is buried in Aitkin County # 90164130.
In 1940 Fred Kenny is 62, an inmate at an institution in Fort Dodge Iowa.
Alan Frederick Kenny, per one tree, was born December 14, 1878 to Silas Kenney and Deette Peck, dying August 17, 1953.
HOMER
Homer Silas Kenney, 31, born at Manchester, Iowa, married Ara May Young on March 11, 1900 in Woodbury County, Iowa.
They had Ralph Leroy Kenny on January 24, 1901 in Wood bury County.
Homer Kenny is farming in Kit Carson County in 1910, 41, with Erie 27, Ralph 9, ALfred 7, Harold 3, and Luverne newborn.
He claimed two quarters in sections 20 and 21, 8S 45W in 1913.
In 1920 Homer is a laborer in Woodbury County, Iowa, 50, with Ara M. 38, both born in Iow. Ralph 18, Alfred 16, Harold 13, Jennie 10,
Paul 7, Glen L. 4, and Myrtle 2 all born in IOwa.
In 1930 Woodbury County, Homer is doing street work as a day laborer, 61, with Ara M. 48,
Paul 18 born in Colorado, Glenn 15 Myrtle M. 12, and Homer E. Jr. 8 in Iowa, daughter Laverne Seeestak 21 born in Colorado.
Homer 1869-1942 and Ara May (Young) Kenny are buried in Woodbury County. # 20209060.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the United Brethren church. Rev. H.V. Riggs officiated. Burial was in Arlington Cemetery at Moville, with the Stiles funeral home of Moville in charge. The burial service was conducted by a son, Rev. Paul Kenny.
The six sons were pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were fellow members of the bible class; John Spangler, George Rockefeller, W.H. Lee, Otto Eisentraut, Ralph Spencer & Fred Van Norman.
Mr. Kenny was born at Manchester, Iowa, Jan 26, 1869. He & Ara May Young were married in Leeds, Iowa, March 11, 1900. Surviving are the wife; six sons, Ralph & Glen & Homer of Alhambra, Calif., Alfred of Anthon, Harold of San Gabriel, Calif., Paul of Palmer, Nebr.; two daughters, Mrs. Jennie Maxey of LeMars & Mrs. Myrtle Johnson of Sioux City; ten granchildren.

"Mrs. LaVerne Maxey
came here in 1945 after residing in Moville. She was born August 22, 1909 in Bethune, Colo. to Homer S. Kenny & Ara May Young. Survivors include five brothers, Ralph & Alfred Kenney, both of Temple City, Calif., Paul of Sheridan, Wyo., Glen of Colorado Springs, & Homer of Sarasota, Florida, & a sister, Mrs. Harold R Johnson of Sioux City.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Nelsin-Berger funeral chapel for Mrs. LeVerne Maxey, 44, 117 W Third St. who died of shock after being struck by an automobile here Thuesday.
Rev. Willard Cunningham of the Whitfield Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Donald Ellsworth, Stanley Fjeldos, Ernest Kenney, John Deviny, William Babcock & Theodore Farrin.
Dr. Thomas E. Coriden, Woodbury county coroner, attributed delayed shock as the cause of death after an autopsy Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. Maxey, the first local traffic fatality of the year, died about an hour & a half after being struck by a car driven by Leo Lane, 31, 3009 Dakota Ave, South Sioux City. She suffered fractures & other injuries. Mr Lane was not held.
