Marion Doudna, 8 South 43 West



In 1860 Belmont County, Ohio, Marion is 9, with Elisha 39. Abigai is 16, Hannah 14, Marion 9, Thomas 7, Matilda J. 5, Nathan 3. John Doudna is 86, Mary 84.

In 1870 Belmont County, Elisha is 51, Mary 40, Mariane 19, Thomas 17, Matilda 15, and Nathan 13.

Hannah P. (Doudna) Lightfoot 1846-18??
In 1880 Belmont County, Mariann is 26, sister of Nathan 22 a carpenter. Wiliam Lightfoot, 39, widowed brother-in-law and Carl F. 10 his son are with them.

In 1885 Sioux County, Iowa, Marion is 33, born in Ohio, living with Matilda D. 30 Hodgin and her husband Amos 36, both born in Ohio.

1890 Wakeeney, Kansas "Miss Marion Doudna left Monday morning for a visit with Nebraska relatives after spending two weeks with her sister at this place."

"Marian" Doudna cash-claimed a quarter in section 13, 8S 44W in 1890.

Marion proved up a quarter in section 30, 8S 43W in 1896.
Marion Doudna dying June 18, 1895, age 44, is buried in Guide Rock, Webster County, Nebraska # 54626942.


Matilda Doudna and Amos Hodgin had married in Belmont County on Feb 26, 1874.

Matilda D. Hodgin - October 12, 1854 - June 26, 1898 is buried in Grace Hill Cemetery, Sioux County.

Amos Hodgin is widowed in 1900 Sioux County, age 52.

Another sister of Marion, Abigail had married Thomas Bundy, and they're in Trego County, Kansas in 1900. Thomas is 56, Abbie 55.

1888 "Down at Guide Rock (Nebraska) the other night, Ed Orne and Nate Doudna, while celebrating Harrison's election, got to fooling with a revolver, when it exploded, the charge taking effect in Doudna's shoulder making a slight flesh wound. Neither of them are blamed for the accident."

N.M. Doudna, 35, born in Ohio, married Mary Crary, 21 on Sep 28, 1892 in Guide Rock, Nebraska.

Nathan M. Doudna 1856-1914 is buried in Guide Rock # 54372300, with Mary E. (Crary) Doudna 1871-1951.

1896 Red Cloud, Nebraska "Stillwater - Mrs. Thos Doudna of Salt Lake City, Utah is visiting her sister, Mrs. M.B. Reeves."

Thomas P. Doudna 1853-1915 is buried in Prescott, Arizona # 46749180, with Jane (Baldwin( Doudna 1864-1952.
"Married 7 Sep 1887 in Webster, Nebraska"
"Thomas P. Doudna, who had been ill for several weeks, passed away yesterday morning at his home on East Willis street. Announcement of his death occasioned many expressions of sorrow, for during his 15 years of a residence his upright citizenship made him esteemed by all. He was a contracting carpenter until poor health necessitated his retiring from business, and in this vocation his conscientious observance of a duty gave to him a consideration that was universally admired. Mr. Doudna's affliction was tubercular and followed from an attack of pneumonia, it is stated. He was aged about 62 years, and born in Barnesvillc, Ohio. Surviving are a widow, a son, Walter Doudna, and a daughter, Miss Marian Doudna, the latter arriving last week from California, to be present when the summons came. The remains are at W .M. Poulson & Co.'s and the funeral will be held from the home on East Willis street Wednesday morning."

October 17, 1920 " Miss Marian Doudna, until recently a Phoenix resident, and well known here, was married a week ago today to James Glover of Tucson in a double-ceremony at Nogales. The other principals of the double wedding were Miss Millie Marks and Allen Johnson, both of Prescott, the two couples eloping together from Tucson to the border city, where they were married by Dean William Scarlett of this city.
Miss Doudna was until a few months ago a trained nurse with the Anti-Tuberculosis association here, and has many friends in the valley. She is a Prescott girl. Since leaving this city, Miss Doudna has been in Tucson. "

Marion divorced James Glover in 1923 in Arizona, and married Harold Hendrickson on March 3, 1926 in Arizona.
1904 "Guide Rock - the furniture store formerly owned by Watt & Montgomery is now owned by the Doudna Bros."

1963 "Wilbur Doudna, assistant naturalist at Shenandoah since 1958, will to become chief National Park leave May 26 naturalist at Theodore Roosevelt National Memorial Park with headquarters at Medora, N.D. The promotion of Doudna, effective June 1, was announced yesterday by R. Taylor Hopkins, superintendent of Shenandoah National Park."
