August Deragowski, 8 South 43 West
Robert Richard "Bob" Deragowski, 88, of Cortez, Colo., died Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Valley Inn Nursing Home in Mancos, Colo. He was born Oct. 18, 1921, in Prairie View, Ark., one of 10 children of August and Annette Deragowski. After the death of his first wife, Ernestine, in 1995, Mr. Deragowski moved to the Cortez area where he met Bertha Valdez, whom he remained with for nearly seven years until her death in 2006. He was a member of the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, and was known as a generous and caring human being. He enjoyed caring for the yards of people around him and at Christmas time he loved playing Santa Claus. Survivors include seven stepchildren, Romelia Ruiz of Mancos, Sonny Archuleta, Darlene Alexander and Gilbert Archuleta, all of Cortez, Maxine Lemos of Montrose, Colo., Arlene Rabi of Idaho, and Randy Archuleta of Utah; several grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Alexander of Springfield, Mo.; and a brother, John Deragowski of Springfield. In addition to his wife and his companion, he also was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mary Gannaway, Evelyn Harris and Peggy Tuck; and four brothers, the Rev. Gene, David, Bernie and Paul Deragowski. Funeral Mass was at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City. Burial was at Scott County Cemetery in Scott City. |
This is Gladys' brother: WILLIAM A. BUTCHER, 88, of Colorado Springs died Monday, October 10, 1988 in Colorado Springs after a long illness. He worked for the El Paso County Highway Department before retiring in 1969. Services will be at I p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Glenn O. McPherson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Butcher was born Dec. 2, 1899, in Mountain Grove, Mo., to James P. and Adeline (Phillips) Butcher. He had lived in Colorado Springs since 1946 and was a former resident of Missouri and Tennessee. Mr. Butcher was a Methodist. He was married Feb. 14, 1920, in Mountain Grove, to Haley Marie Sluder, who died in 1984. Mr. Butcher is survived by two sons, Albert Jr. of Los Altos, Calif., and Wayne of Garland, Texas; two daughters, Lavella Ely of Desoto, Texas and Fern Brenton of Colorado Springs; three brothers, Walter, Everett and Ervin, all of Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Gladys Deragowski of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. |
Gerald L. “Jerry” Tuck Gerald Lee “Jerry” Tuck, age 62, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at his home with family at his side. Gerald was born April 18, 1949, in Springfield, Mo., son of the late Willard Tuck and Margaret Deragowski Tuck. He graduated from Republic High School before joining the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam War. After his service to our country, he worked as an Air Traffic Controller from 1975 through 1981. In October of 1981, he began his 37 year career in law enforcement serving the Joplin Police Department, the Duenweg Police Department, and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department. Gerald was an active member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church where he served on the church vestry and sang in the choir. He was a former member of the Joplin Kiwanis Club. He loved following NASCAR, supporting the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Cardinals and most importantly following his children and grandchildren’s Webb City School activities. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Bober Tuck; daughters, LeAnn Wilson and husband, Mike, of Oronogo, Mo., Cheri Badgley and husband, Tony, of Webb City, Mo., Kathy Doss and husband, Don, of Webb City, Alysia Patrick and husband, Steve, of Wichita, Kan. and Carrie Steele of St. Charles, Mo.; brothers, Larry Tuck and wife, Janey, of Springfield, Gary Tuck and wife, Delisa, of Edwardsville, Ill.; sister, Becky Whetstine and husband, Billy, of Canton, Texas; brothers, Gary Grady of Hicksville, N.Y., Greg Grady and wife, Gayle, of Clearwater, Fla., Gill Grady and wife Becky of Woodbine, Md. and Geoff Grady and wife, Karla, of Maywood, N.J.; nine grandchildren; 12 nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at 10 a.m. at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church with Father Frank Sierra officiating followed by interment in Mount Hope Cemetery. |
