Perry M. and Anna (Volf) Davis, 8 South 43 West

In 1900 Wayne County, Iowa, George Davis born January 1847 in Indiana, has been married 31 years to Mary D. Dec 1852 Virginia. She's had seven kids, five living. Perry M. was born July 1877, Claude E. Aug 1886, and grandson Hurley May 1890, all three in Iowa.

George, 73, and Mary D. 67 are both still in Wayne County in 1920, and grandson "Herley" 29 is still with them.
George died September 30, 1926, and is buried in Confidence, Wayne County # 102649758, with Mary Della (Scott) Davis 1852-1944 # 102649797.

Perry is a carpenter in 1910 Custer County, Nebraska, just married to Anna M. 2 born in Nebraska.
She might be the Anna Wolf in 1900 Valley County, Nebraska, born October 1888 to Frank 47 and Anna 35- both born in Bohemia, with six siblings.
Frank "Volf" 1853-1913 is buried in Valley County # 19516550, with Anna (Novak) Volf 1864-1928.


" Funeral services for Frank Volf, 80 year old retired farmer were held Tuesday morning at 9:30 at the Hastings Pearson Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Gorak officiating. Mr. Volf died Saturday Oct. 2, 1965, following a lingering illness. He had been bed fast the past two years.
Survivors include his wife of Ord, one son, Edwin of Burwell, five daughters, Mrs. Emma Hulinsky, Mrs. Lillian Setlik, Mrs. Dorothy Setlik, all of Ord, Mrs. Alice Hulinsky and Mrs. Lucille Vampola, both of Gering, two brothers, John of Ord and Louis of Comstock; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Parkos of Ord, Mrs. Anna Davis, Mrs. Emma Guthel and Mrs. Agnes Mellinger, all of California; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant twins, five brothers and one sister."

When Albert Volf died in 1975, he was preceded by a borther Anton and a sister, Mrs. Mike Hvezda. Surviging six brothers were Charles of Judith Gap, Montana, James of Venice, California, Frank of Ord, Joseph of taylor, John of Arcadia, and Louis of Comstock. Four sisters, Mrs. Joe Parkos of Ord, Mrs. Perry Davis of Reseda, California, Mrs. Frank Gutheil of Los Angeles, and Mrs. John Mellinger of Monrovia, California.

Melvin claimed a quarter in section 17, 8S 43W, Kit Carson County, Colorado, in 1902.

Perry and Anna are alone in 1940 Amarillo, Texas. Anna owns a retail grocery.

Perry registered for WWII in Amarillo, Texas, born July 8, 1877 in Confidence, Iowa, with Margarie Poe of the same address as a reference.

Perry died July 11, 1973 in Orange County, California.

Anna M. Davis, born Oct 18, 1888, died in Josephine County, Oregon June 5, 1981.

HUBERT

Hubert is a city laborer is in Amarillo in 1940, 29, with Elaine E. 24 born in Texas. Thomas M. is 2.

She was Elaine Gaut, age 14 in 1930 Amarillo, with Royce 33 and Velma 31 and four siblings.
Elaine died July 6, 1982 in Riverside County, California.

Hubert Thomas Davis, born Nov 29, 1910, died in Josephine County, Oregon on Dec 20, 1983, spouse Violet.

MARJORIE

John D. Poe, a blacksmith, 26 and Marjorie 17 are in Amarillo in 1930.

In 1940 Randall County, Texas, Marjorie is 27, married to John Poe 36 of Mississippi. Their sons J. C. 9, Bobbie 7, and Jimmie 5 were born in Texas.

In 1964 Orange County, Marjorie D. Poe isliving at 19841 Inverness Lane. No other Poe is regiestered.

Marjorie A. Poe, born Oct 23, 1912, died September 4, 1968 in Orange County, California.
She's buried in Orange COUnty # 100255896.

John Daniel Poe, born Jan 28, 1903 in Mississippi, died October 22, 1985 in Riverside County, California.

J.C. Poe, born December 7, 1930 in Amarillo, died April 9, 2001. He's buried in Maui Veterans Cemetery, Hawaii, for service in the Army in Korea.
He had married Patty L. Woertink, 18, in Contra Costa County, California on Dec 13, 1952.

James Ray Poe, born July 20, 1934 in Amarillo, died in Ventura County, California Nov 22, 1976.

Hurley I. Davis, 79, a native of Wayne County, who moved to Chariton six years ago, died Wednesday morning, August 6, 1969 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks.
He is survived by his widow, Florence of Chariton, three sons, Dallas Davis of Kansas City, Kan., Richard Davis of Des Moines, Donnie Davis of Rantoul, Kan., two daughters, Helen Butler of Davenport and Betty Sulser of Plano, and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:30 at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home by the Rev. Thomas Nieman.
