Heman W. Clement, 8 South 43 West



In 1860 Orleans County, Vermont, Heman Clement is 3, youngest of James 47 and Rosina 43 Clement, both born in New Hampshire. Walter 19, Byron 16, Julia 15, Silva 11, Auston 9, Marshall 6, and Heman were all born in Vermont.

In 1870 Vermont, James is 58, born in New Hampshire, Rosina 54 in Canada, Julia 24, Sylvia 22, Orlandao 19, Herman 13, and Ida 7 all born in Vermont.

Deacon James Clement 1811-1890 is buried in Irasburg # 148563878.
Rosina (Massey) Clement 1817-1904 is buried in Irasburg # 1485640009.

John B. Clement age 64, born 1843 at Irasburgh, Vermont to James Clement and Rosina Massey, died in Allenstown, New Hampshire on Dec 7, 1907.
John is buried in Irasburg # 148016036.

In 1887 H.W. Clement was secretary of the Elbert County Townsite Committee, which platted the town of Larsen, in section 29, 8S. 42W, a mile and a half east of Peconic.
Heman was a charter memeber of the Burlington Masonic Lodge No. 77 in 1888. Larsen died out by 1890, and was sold for taxes to J.C. Markle.

Other members were Frederick K. Brown, W.M.; Hiram Wilson, S.W.; Franklin F. Thomas, J.W.; and Lewis C. Grfeene, William Parke, Jared Marshall, Jesse E. Barlow, David A. Vanderpool, Morton Jones, and John D. Saggan.


Herman W. Clement cash-claimed a quarter in section 24, 8S 43W in 1890.
Herman W. Clements had an application for a homestead in 8S 44W, but it apparently wasn't completed.

1891 Boise, Idaho "John McDonald of Salmon City, and Herman W. Clement, of this city, were both apoointed notaries yesterday by the governor."

Heman W. Clement and Clara Welch married in Malehur County, Oregon in 1895.

In 1900 Boise, Herman (William in the Ancestry index) W. Clement is manager of a telephone company, born Sept 1856 in Vermont, married four years to Clara born Sept 1876 in Utah. They have Rosina Jan 1899 in Oregon.

In 1901 H.W. Clement was the secretary of the Idaho Telephone Company in Boise.

The H.W. Clement house, at 106 East Bannock in Boise, with a stone veneer, was one of teh Tourtellotte and Hummel archiitecture in Idaho.

In 1903 H.W. Clement was the clerk and auditor of Boise, Idaho.
He was the Boise city clerk in 1904.

1909 Ontario, Oregon "H. W. Clement, the real estate man, was in Vale on Wednesday on land matters.""

In 1910 Ontario, Malheur County, Herman is a real estate dealer, 53, with Clara 33, Rosina 11, and Frank M. 5 born in Idaho.

In 1913 Mrs. H.W. Clement was recording secretary of the Ontario Woman's Club.

1913 "H. W. Clement and daughter, Rosin", went up to Boise the first of the week for a short visit."

1915 "H. W. Clement returned Friday from a four weeks' sojourn at Salem where he has been attending the session of the legislature. Mr. Clement waa representing the Dead Ox Flat Irrigation district and was much interested in some of the bills that were before the legislature relating to this section. "

1916 "H. W. Clement is not improving very much. He is down with liver trouble."

In 1920 Ontario, "Himan" W. Clement is still a real estate agent with Clara , Rosia a postal clerk, and Frank 15.

1922 San Bernardino, California "H. W. Clement of the Lewellyn Iron Works of Los Angeles, was a business visitor in Colton yesterday."

Henan Ward Clement, age 68, son of John Clement and Rosana Marsey, died in Seattle on October 113, 1924.

Heman W. Clement 1856-1924 is buried in Ontario # 21188121.


Clara W. Clement died December 27, 1924 in Malheur County, and is buried in Ontario # 31547627.

Rosina Clement married James C. Murphy in Canyon County, Idaho on March 26, 1925.
She's buried in Nampa, Idaho 1899-1975 # 42744032, with James Clark Murphy 1892-1959.
July 2, 1975 "Funeral services for Mrs. Rosina Clement Murphy, 76, 1108 Seventh St. S., who died Monday at a Nampa hospital following a brief illness, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Ray Schaumburg will officiate. Interment will be at Kohlerlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Murphy was born Jan. 2, 1899. at Ontario, Ore., and was reared and attended school there. She married Clark Murphy at Nampa in March of 1925. They continued to make their home in Ontario and other cities following their marriage, until coming to Nampa in 19?? when Mr. Murphy became city engineer. He served in this position until he retired in 1957 because of ill health. Mr Murphy preceded her in death Oct. 1959. Mrs. Murphy continued to make her home in Nampa, and until the time of her death she was residing in the Golden Glow Apartments. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church; and was a past matron and 50-year member of the Eastern Star at Ontario. She is survived by one brother, Frank M. Clement, Puyallup, Wash.; two nephews. James W. Clement, Anchorage, Alaska and Richard L. Clement, Puyallup; and one niece, Mrs. Barbara Clasen, Anchorage."

Frank M. Clement 1904-1978 is buried in Puyallup, Washington # 83961823, with Caroline Jean (Orsie) Balascio. buried in Clark County, Washington. She hasd married Frank Milton Clement in 1932, and in 1962 to Joseph M. Balascio>
