Annals and Genealogies of New Hampshire:
"Charles Canney and his bride went to Center Harbor in January,
1862. In May, 1867, they removed one-half mile away to where
he spent the rest of his days. Their children:
Hosea, b. Sept. 17, 1863, in Center Harbor.
Alice, m. Charles Hill; resides with her son, Herbert, in
Framingham.
Charles Canney married, second, Mary E. Cox.
In 1870 Belknap COunty, New Hampshire,
Charles H. Canney is 35, Mary 36, Hosea 6, and Alice 1.
In 1880 Belknap County, Charles is 45, farming,
Mary E. 47. Hosea is 17, teaching school. John L. is 8, Alice 11, and Mary's daughter Emma Beaty 22.
Hosea cash-claimed a quarter in section 12, 8S 43W in 1890.
In 1900 Salt Lake City, Hosea Canney is a boarder, born Sept 1863 in New Hampshire, single, no occupation.
In 1910 Belknap County, New Hampshire, Hosea is a bookkeeper, 46,
with Charles K. Canney 74 and Mary 76, all three born in New Hampshire.
Hosea arrived in New York in 1930 from Yokohama, Japan, born Sept 7, 1863 at
Center Harbour, New Haven (maybe New Hampshire?). He was currently living at Meredith New Hampshire.
He arrived in Boston in 1936, embarking from Bombay, India.
In 1940 Hosea is 76, one of three elderly boarders of
Annie M. George 66, a practical nurse.
Hosea is buried in Belknap County 1863-1941 # 140341112.
FindaGrave says his mother was Loiza H. Hawkins, 1828--1968. Charles then married Mary E. (Cox) Beaty in 1870.
