NELLIE'S FAMILY

In 1880 Pottawatomie County, Kansas, Thomas "Doyel" is 45, "Neley" 36, Neley 9, Thomas 7, Mary 5, and John 1.

In 1895 Pottawatomie County, Thos is 59, Thos 22, John 16, and Nellie 24.

In 1900 Pottawatomie County, Kansas, Thomas Doyle is 65, Nellie born Dec 1870 in Kansas, and John born Nov 1878 in Kansas.

Thomas 1834-1913 is buried in Marshall County, Kansas # 44056136, with Ellen B. Doyle 1844-1896 # 44056157.
Onaga Herald July 3, 1913
"Thomas Doyle, Sr., father of County Commissioner, T. H. Doyle, died at his home north of Wheaton, Sunday June 15, 1913. The deceased was born in Cuneca county, Ireland in 1834. he landed in New York in 1849 without money or friends and remained there and at old Saybrook, Connecticut until 1870. In 1870 he married Miss Ellen Barry, they immediately moved to the old homestead north of Wheaton and has been one of the prominent citizens of that locality. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Doyle, two of which died in infancy. Those living are Mrs. Nellie Bauer of Burlington, Colo., Thomas H. Doyle, Mrs. Mary Keating of near Wheaton, and John Doyle of Kansas City. He was a member of the Catholic church.
The funeral services were held Tuesday morning in St. Joseph's Catholic church, Irish Creek and were conducted by Father Fitzgerald. Interment was in the Irish Creek cemetery besides the body of the deceased wife. The funeral was largely attended."

JOSEPH

Joseph claimed a tract in section 18, 8S 43W in 1891.
In 1900 Kit Carson County, Joseph is single, born June 1860 in Germany, a stock raiser, immigrating in 1883, naturalized.
Joseph Bauer of Burlington, and Miss Nellie Doyle of Wheaton, Pottawatomie County, Kanss, married in Burlington on October 2, 1903.

In 1910 Kit Carson County, Joseph is farming, 49, Nellie 38.

George Jeppe claimed a quarter in section 6, 8S 43W in 1911. His witnesses in 1910 were Clarence Disbrow, Joseph Bauer, Fred Shumate, and Arthur Sumner, all of Burlington.

1916 Onaga, Kansas " Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bauer, of Burlington, Colorado, are here to visit with Mrs. Bauer's relatives, the Doyles of Wheaton."

In 1920 Colorado Springs, Joseph has no occupation, 59, born in Bavaria, immigrating in 183, with Nellie 48 born in Kansas.

In 1930 Colorado Springs, Joseph "Bower" has no occupation, 69, with Nellie 59.

July 28, 1938 Colorado Springs Catholic news "Mrs. Nellie Bauer entertained ten guests Thursday afternoon, July 21, at her home."

In 1940 Colorado Springs, Nellie "Baeur" is widowed, living alone.

Joseph is buried in Marshall County, Kansas, 1860-1930 # 43675553, with Nellie (Doyle) Bauer 1870-1954 # 43675589.

NELLIE'S BROTHER THOMAS

"January 19, 1933 Onaga Kansas

Thomas H. Doyle, formerly of Wheaton, Kansas passed away at St. Marys, Kansas, January 10, 1933, after a very brief illness. He was born at Wheaton, Kansas, September 18, 1872, and was married January 19, 1898 to Fina Ingalsbe, of Onaga, Kansas.
He served several year as trustee of Lone Tree township, and eight years as County Commissioner of Pottawatomie county, and spent the greater part of life as an active figure in the political life of this district.
He was prceeded in death by his wife on March 25, 1916, and by his daughter Francis on September 1, 1980. He is survived by five daughters-Mrs. Nellie Young and Mrs. Gertrude McDonnell, of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Lucille Dodge and Mrs. Finia Johnson, of Hutchison, Kansas; and Mrs. Kathleen Groosnickle, of Onaga; a brother, John Doyle, of Kansas City, Mo.; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Keating, of Wheaton, Kansas, and Mrs. Nellie Bauer, of Colorado Springs, Colo; also three grandsons, Jimmie Dodge, and Glenn Jr. and Johnnie Doyle Grossnickle, and three granddaughters, Doris Jean and Lavon Grossnickle and Joyce McDonnell, and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his death.
Funeral services were held in the Wheaton Catholic cemetery, January 12th, with burial in the family lot in Irish Creek cemetery.
The family wishes to thank their many friends who were so kind during their bereavement, and also for the beautiful floral offerings."

NELLIE'S BROTHER JOHN

John Bernard Doyle, born August 20, 1878 to Thomas Doyle and ? Berry, died in El Paso, Texas June 9, 1959, the informant Thomas Doyle.
He was to be buried in Evergreen Cemetery, El Paso.

NELLIE'S SISTER MARY
The Onaga Herald July 28, 1949
" Mary Doyle Keating was born Sept. 6, 1874 and passed away July 9, 1949, after an illness of two weeks.
She was united in marriage to Henry Keating. To this union 11 children were born. Thomas, the oldest, passed away in 1934, her husband in 1940, Monica on Feb. 1, 1948 and Regina on April 30 of this year. She is survived by 8 children: Nellie Horgan, Nora Cunningham, Angie Walsh and Harry Keating all of Wheaton; Minnie Taylor of Lillis; Jim of Blaine; Martina Fincham of Marysville; Wilfred to Topeka; also 37 grandchildren, 2 dying in infancy and 5 great-grandchildren; one sister, Nellie Bauer of Colorado Springs; one brother, John Doyle, El Paso, Tex.; besides a large number of other relatives and friends to mourn the departure of Mom. As she was known to her family, and Grandma to countless others. Her interest centered around her home family and her church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, July 12 from St. Machiels church with Requiem High Mass sung by Fr. Edward Doherty, at 9:30. The choir girls, assisted by granddaughters, sang High Mast with Mary Ruth Cunningham at the organ. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the family lot at Irish Creek. Pall bearers were Dan Horgan, Mike McGrath, Bill Burke, John Walsh, Jack Dalton and Ed Brown. "
