In 1870 Newton County, Missouri, William is a miner, 36, with Mary E. 35, Florence 16, Sarah A. 15, Mary A. 8, Henry G. 6 (a son - must be Grant), May 2, and Jacob one month.

In 1880 Newton County, W. H. is mining, 46, Mary 45, Ida M. 12, Jacob W. 9, Gertrude 5, and Loran V. 4.

William claimed a quarter in section 26, 8S 43W in 1891.

In 1900 Texas County, Missouri, William Arnett is farming, born Jan 1850 in Kentucky, married 28 years to Mary Jan 1850 Illinois. Earnest Nov 1886 and Leonard May 1887 were born in Missouri.

William was born January 6, 1850 in Kentucky to Samuel and Lavina Arnett, and died in Texas County, Missouri August 8, 1930, to be buried in Schaffer. The informant was Earnest Arnett.
He's buried in Schafer Cemetery 1850-1930 # 20010198.

GERTRUDE

Gertrude I. Arnett and Charles W. Carman had Nan Iola on April 3, 1908 in Denewege, Missouri, who died as Sisler on May 11, 2003.
She's buried in Lane County, Oregon # 121764577.

In 1920 Howard County, Indiana, "Allen" is a laborer in a spring factory, 45, with Ella 41, Susie 16, Renna 14, Joseph 12, Lillie 9, Vera 8, all born in Missouri, Ernest 3 and Harold three months old, both born in Indiana.

"Allen" is farming in Texas County, Missouri in 1930, 55, with Ella 51, Earnest 13, Harold 10, and his father W.M. Arnett 80 with him.

Mrs. Sosbe, who resided at 1901 Sheridan street, Elwood, drained the contents of a two-ounce bottle of carbolic acid after writing the note and her lifeless body was found seated in the chair by the table by a daughter Betty Jean, when the child, arose went to the dining room. Mrs. Sosbe, who was a sister of Mrs. LJ*He Hlilard of Curtisville, and of Edward Arnett and Mrs. Kenneth Shield of Tipton, was also a niece of William H. Snyder of Tipton. The five children are William, 17. Betty Jean, 16, Donald, 11, Glen, 9, and Walter Allen, 7. Other surviving relatives are Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Arnett, parents, and two sisters, Mrs. Myles Doolittle and Mrs. Alonso Miller, all of Kokomo.
Funeral services are to be held at the Methodist Protestant church in Elwood, Saturday afternoon, with Rev. E. L Ferris, pastor, officiating, and burlal will be beside the husband in the Elwood cemetery. Mrs. Sosbe had not been in good health and had worried over the financial condition of herself and children and this so preyed on her mind that she became demented. Prior to writing the note, Mrs. Sosbe had been seated on the edge of the bed in which the youngest child, Walter Alien, was lying, the lad suffering with an injured foot. At 10:00 o'clock, she told the other children to retire and bid them all good night."
