"Frank E. Wood, long time resident of Hawarden and Sioux
county, passed away suddenly at his home in Hawarden Monday
night from a heart attack. He had apparently been in splendid
of late and was in fine ... retiring Monday night. A short time
after he retired, however, he was taken violently ill.
Mrs. Wood attempted to mate him more comfortable in bed by
propping him up on pillows and then summoned assistance.
Within twenty minutes after the first sign of illness,
he slipped away.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in
Hawarden this afternoon with the pastor, Rev.
Robert F. Chapler, in charge. Interment will be in the family
lot in Grace Hill cemetery.
Frank Eugene Wood was born July 7, 1863, at Kirkland,
I11., and died in Hawarden December 20, 1937, at the age of
74 years, 5 months and 13 days. When he was about 3 months
old his family moved to Rudd, Iowa and in 18?0
they came to Sioux county, where he has since resided.
He engaged in farming for years, but retired about 10 years and
since has resided in Shel...

where Mr. Graves passed away 40 years ago. She came with her
