April 13, 1936 Manhattan, Kansas " The marriage of Miss Violet Alvlna Heer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Heer, 1200 Pierre street, and Mr. Raymond Lorn Lanfear, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lanfear of Francis, occurred at 8 o'clock Saturday evening in the First Methodist Episcopal church. The Rev. B. A. Rogers, student pastor, read the double ring service. The altar before which the bridal party stood during the ceremony was banked with potted ferns, palms and evergreens, interspersed with Easter lilies and primroses. White tapers in Cathedral standards, were lighted by Mr. Ernest Jones and Mr. Delbert, who also acted as ushers. Preceding the ceremony, Donald Engle at the organ, played, "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life," "At Dawning" and as the bride and her attendants approached the altar, the wedding march from Lohengrin. During the service he played 'Uebestraum," and Mendelssohn's wedding march for the recessional.
The bride wore a floor length dress of white satin with a short train, and carried a shower bouquet of lilies of the valley, sweet peas, and violets. She also wore flowers in her hair.
Miss Irene Heer, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Her dress was -of yellow sheer silk, and Miss Zora Knox, bride's maid, was dressed in turquoise blue waffle crepe. Both girls carried an arm bouquet of Tailsman roses and lavender sweet peas.
Mr. Ernest Jones was best man. Mr. and Mrs, Lanfear left immediately after the wedding for Ellensburg, where they will make their home. The bride is a graduate of Manhattan high school and Kansas State college. It was while she was engaged in work connected with the resettlement program at St. Francis that she met Mr. Lanfear."

Salinas, California, May 22, 1958 " Funeral services for Thomas Carter Wilson, 64, will be held in Mullers mortuary chapel tomorrow, 2 p.m. His body then will be sent to Altus, for interment. Mr. Wilson, who was engaged in the real estate business and operated a hotel at 124 West Market street, took his own life yesterday morning by shooting himself through the chest, according to coroners reports. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mattie Wilson, of the Market street address; one son, Raymond Wilson, Altus; two daughters, Mrs. Eva Dell Heer, Topeka, and Mrs. Bobbie Neil Pfefferkorn, Reno; five grandchildren, two brothers, Haskell and Woodrow Wilson, both of Lynwood, and six sisters, Mrs. Lessie Lynn, Texas; Mrs. Lela Hodges, Los Angeles; Mrs. Gary Horton, Tipton, Mrs. Elsie Hughes, Denver City, Texas, and Mrs. Marie Carter and Mrs. Ermin Lewis, both of Altus."
