William J. and Rose Sweet, 7 South 51 West



Jay Sweet is in Shelby, Macomb County, Michigan in 1850, , 3 with William and Betsy both 29 born in New York. Carissa is 5, Earl 1,k all three kids born in Michigan.

"William Jay may have been the son of William B. Sweet and Betsey Saddlee (Sadler??), who were married in Macomb, Michigan in 1844. The 1860 census for Macomb has William Jay listed twice, once with his parents and then possibly a second time as a laborer on another farm."

The one with his parents has William B. Sweet 38 and Elizabeth 36 both born in New York, Terrissa 14, William 13, Earl 10, and John 4, all four bornin Michigan.

He might be the William Sweet who married R. Elizabeth Crowner on June 17, 1872 in Berrien County, Michigan.

In 1900 Dawson County, Nebraska, William J. born May 1847, married 17 years to Rose March 1859, daughter Birdie L. Sept 1886, all three born in Michigan, and George A. May 1890 Nebraska. Rose has had five children, three living. Both her parents were born in Canada.


In 1910 Dawson County, William is 62, Rose 51, George 19, and a hired man Paul Kinney 16 born in Wisconsin.

William claimed a quarter in section 33, 7S 51W in 1918.


In 1920 Kit Carson County, William is 72, Rose A. 60 and George A. 29, all born in Michigan.

William J. Sweet 1848-1928 is buried in Flagler # 13478793.

Rose is widowed in 1930 Flagler, living next door to George A. 39 and his wife Cora 34 born in Iowa. Frank A. 5, Clyde A and Clifford E both three.

Rose 1859-1955 is buried in Flagler # 13478705.

Birdie Laura Sweet 1885-1900 is buried in Dawson County, Nebraska # 25233928.

GEORGE

George A. Sweet, 32, married Cora E. Parker on Oct 7, 1922 in Arriba, Lincoln County.

Rose is widowed in 1930 Flagler, living next door to George A. 39 and his wife Cora 34 born in Iowa. Frank A. 5, Clyde A. and Clifford E. both three.
George A. Sweet 1890-1984 is buried in Flagler # 5099722, with Cora E. 1895-1981, # 5099723.

So is Clyde A. 1927-1973 # 15702479 "killed in car accident", with Phyllis 1933-2000.
Agnes Gwyn Jones, dying 2015, " was proceeded in death by her parents, Jim and Ida Gwyn, husband, LeRoy, son, Jim, brother Albert and great-granddaughter Abby Jo Michal. She was also proceeded in death by sister-in-law, Phyllis Sweet, brother-in-laws, Clyde Sweet, Paul Schiferl, Steve Kasza, 3 nephews and one niece. "

"FRANK A. SWEET, SR. (Age 91) of Pasco, WA passed away on January 15, 2016. Frank was born on September 3, 1924 in Flagler, CO to George and Cora Sweet. On December 7, 1942, Frank enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until 1945. After his Navy career he settled in the Tri-Cities. Frank was the Division Chairman for the department of Vocational Education at Columbia Basin Community College and retired after 27 years of service, after which he started his own business in computers and electronics. Frank married Mary U. Plumb Stone on December 26, 1969. They recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. Frank has been a long time member of the American Legions and was a 32 Degree Scottish Rite Free Mason. He is preceded in death by his parents, his oldest son and a grandson. He is survived by his wife, Mary, four adult children and their spouses, and 19 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Columbia Memorial Chapel and Gardens, 224 24th Ave., Pasco, WA. "

Mary's brother "Wayne Leroy (Bud) Plumb-75 died in his sleep July 21, 2011 at the Washington County Nursing Home in Akron, CO. Born July 13, 1936 on a farm 25 miles north of Flagler, CO to Lyle Leroy & Avis Elizabeth (Stoner) Plumb. He was one of seven children, older sisters Iva & Paul Scott of Yuma, Mary & Frank Sweet of Pasco WA, Glennis & Jim Trahern of Limon, Beth Ann (who died at birth) then along came Wayne, younger sister Zeta Deiser of Burlington and little brother Floyd who died at 15. "
