Winslow W. and Martha E. (Pemberton) Reynolds, 7 South 51 West



In 1870 Rock County, Wisconsin, Abner Reynolds and Mary Reynolds, both 46, have Sarah 17, George 15, Alice 13, John T. 10, Sherman 5, and Winslow 3.

In 1880 Wells County, Indiana, Samuel Pemberton is 33, Mary H. 39, with Ada B. 12, Charles E. 11, William A. 10, Ida M. 9, Chester J. 7, Walter H. 5, MARTHA E. Samuel and Lemuel all 3.

(Edith Pemberton, daughter of Mary Pemberton, married Earl H. Chandler on May 2, 1923 in Kit Carson County. This Mary Pemberton 1874-1949 is buried in Denver # 128250765.)

Samuel S. Pemberton 1847-1930 is buried in Phillipsburg # 28605617.
So is Mary H. Pemberton 1840-1906 # 28605633.

Winslow Weber Reynolds, 27, and Martha E. Pemberton, 17, married in Phillips County, Kansas in 1893.

Winslow is a register of deeds, born Nov 1866 in Wisconsin, and Martha Dec 1876 in Indiana, are in Phillipsburg, Kansas in 1900, with Ida Sept 1894. One child has died. Winslow's mother Mary Reynolds born June 1824 in Maine is with them.

(The Bertha Reynolds 1894-1899 # 24523866 buried in the same cemetery is very likely their daughter.)

Mary 1824-1907 is buried in Phillipsburg # 24523804.

In the 1910 census of Goodland, Kansas, Winslow is operating a hotel, 43, born in Wisconsin, married 17 years to Martha 34 Indiana. She's had five kids, four living. Iva 14 and Orietta 5 were born in Kansas, Ida 2 and Ray five months were born in Colorado.

Winslow claimed a quarter in section 32, 7S 51W in 1910.


May 1914 Phillipsburg " Mrs. Win Reynolds and three children were callers at this office last Thursday, the lady having come down from Flagler, Colo., for a short stay with relatives, she being a daughter of Sam Pemberton. Mrs. Reynolds reports her husband as beiug engaged in the dray business in that growing A man In Wichita county, who has lived there for many years and has As a result of sending out "personal appeals" in the form of an inviatlon to a bannuet. there was a Tery fair Colorado town and doing tolerably .."

They're farming in the 1920 Kit Carson County census, Winslow 53, Martha E. 43, Iva E. 24, Orietta M. 15, Ida B. 12, Ray P. 10, and Walter W. 7.

Winslow is operating the town dairy in Flagler in 1930, 63, with Martha 53, Oreitta M.24, Ida B. 22, Ray P. 19, and Walter W. 17.

In 1940 Flagler, Winslow 73, Martha 63, and Ida B. a teacher 31 are still together.

Winslow 1866-1948 is buried in Phillipsburg # 24523812, with Martha 1876-1947 # 24523761.

Iva E. Reynolds and Matthew M. McElhinnney married in Flagler (recorded in Lincoln County) on October 20, 1928.
She's buried in Des Moines County, Iowa 1895-1986 # 41620691. So is Matthew 1877-1953 # 41620853.
It says his first wife was Bertha 1887-1918.

Orietta M. Reynolds and Bert B. Herring married in Denver on January 22, 1931.
In 1940 Denver, Bert is a laborer, 45, born in Iowa, with Orietta 34 in Kansas. Darlene 8, Jerry 6, Lois 5, Lawrence 3, and Robert 1 were all born in Colorado.

Orietta is buried in Littleton, Colorado 1904-1986 # 140570675.

Ida B. Reynolds and Sol. W. Stone married in Kit Carson County on Dec 27, 1945.
Ida is buried in Burlington 1907-1984 # 89679361, with Sol 1903-1973 # 89679404.

Ray registered for WWII in Denver, saying he was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, working for DC Truckers, with wife Helen.

Ray Reynolds, born August 12, 1909, died in September 1978, last residence Denver.

Walter W. Reynolds and Cora Esther McJimsey married in Kit Carson County on July 10, 1935.

They're buried in Byers, Colorado, Walter 1912-2001 # 92581076, Cora Esther 1916-2010 # 50255270.
