Clarence E. Murphy, 7 South 51 West



Floyd Williams claimed a quarter in section 22, 7S 51W in 1908.

The only adjoining claimants in 1908 were Clarence Murphy in section 21- to his west.
Arthur Gaudreault claimed a quarter in section 27 to his south in 1909.

In 1900 Phillips County, Kansas, Clarence is 12, with parents Ed 52 and Sphha 41. Minnie is 18, Ella 17, Clarence 12, Henry 6, and Liddie M. 1.
Clarence E. Murpohy and Susie Velma Haney married in Phillips County on March 9, 1910.

" Last Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Hillyard, occurred the marriage of Miss Susie Haney and Clarence Murphy. At 8:30 o'clock the ceremony was performed by Rev. Greene, in the presence of only the relatives of the two parties. After congratulations a delicious two course luncheon was served by Mesdames Lewis McPherson, Milford Haney and Louis Haney. Mr. Murphy has rented the Chism farm southeast of Phillipsburg for the coming year and had the house furnished and ready to occupy and the young couple went to keeping house immediately. The bride is the youngest daughter of P. H. Haney and has grown from babyhood in the vicinity of Phillipsburg and has a large circle of friends. Susie is Mr. Haney's baby and has been his faithful housekeeper for a number of years and he will feel his loss very keenly. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Murphy and is an upright, industrious young man and will provide a good home for his wife. The Post wishes to join with the many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Murphy in offering congratulations and best wishes. "

In 1910 Phillips County, Clarence is 22, married to Susie 18, farming.

"Tuesday evening at 7:45 Milford H. Haney and his wife, Flora M., were struck by train eight in the deep cut crossing four miles east of this city. Mrs. Haney was killed instantly and Mr. Haney died at the home of his brother-in-law, Lewis McPherson, at 9:35. He never regained consciousness after the accident occurred. The bodv of Mrs. Haney was badly mangled. Mr. and Mrs. Haney were driving an Oakland Six and were on their way to Gretna on some business. "

Clarence Edd Murphy registered for WWI in Phillipsburg, Kansas, born Nov 2, 1887 in Phillips County, farming, with a wife and two children.

He's farming in Phillips County in 1920, 32, with Susie 28, Arthur P. 9 a, Drrel 5, and Pearl 1.

In 1930 Clarence is driving an oil truck in Denver, 42, with Susie V. 38, Arthur P. 19, Darrel D. 15, and S. Pearl 11.

Clarence and Susie are alone in 1940 Denver, where he's a check for a moving and storage company.

Clarence died in May 1966, last residence Littleton, Colorado.

Susie, born Nov 1, 1891, died in September 1969, last residence Littleton.

Darrel D. Murphy 1914-1983 is buried in Fort Logan # 3362803, with marie V. 1920-1985.

Susie Pearl Murphy and Palmer Henry Durfee married in Denver on October 23, 1937.

In 1940 Palmer is farming, 24, with Susie P. 21 adn Velma P. 1. His parents George 47 and Stella 45 are with them.
She might be the Mrs. Pearl Durfee dying June 1966, in the Littleton obituary index.

Palmer H. Durfee born May 6, 1915 in Colorado, died in Sonoma County, california on Feb 1985.

Velma 1938-2001 Moore # 22658768 is buried in Fort Logan, with Joseph H. Morroe.
