Edward S. and Pearl (Stotten) Larue, Colorado Springs



In 1900 Coffey County, Kansas, Edward is a grocery clerk, single, born Feb 1874 in Indiana, boarding with the George and Cora Marsh family, who have Walter 5, Claude H. 4, and George E. 2. Pearl Marsh is an adopted daughter, 17, born in Illinois.

Her father is likely John P. Scotten born Oct 1845 in Indiana, in Coffey County, Kansas in 1900.

In 1880 Hendricks County, Indiana, John P. Scotten is 34, Elizzie B. 26, Nora M. 5, Mary R. 4, and Merta M. 2.
(Nora M. Scotten, 19, married James T. Allen in Franklin County, Kansas on March 14, 1894.). She's buried in Coffey County, Kansas 1874-193 # 11394642 "Wife of J.T. Allen.

John P. Scotten and Elizabeth M. Johnson 34 married in Franklin County, Kanss on June 23, 1892. Elizabeth Scotten 42 born in Virginia, Elsa 6 and Myrtle 21 and Nathan E. 19 all three born in Indiana.

John P. Scotten died January 8, 1908 in Franklin County, Kansas.

In 1910 Colorado Springs, Edward is operating a second hand store, 38, married nine years to Pearl 27, both born in Indiana. Bernice 8 and Cecil 5 were born in Kansas.|


All four are in Colorado Springs in 1920, Edward a shipping clerk for a furniture company.

Edward 1870-1923 is buried in Colorado Springs # 35063486, and

Pearl LaRue, 47, and Alfred C. Stubblefield married in Colorado Springs on October 5, 1929.

In 1930 Colorado Springs, Pearl, 47, is a bakery clerk, married to Alfred L. Stubblefield 42 born in Missouri, a bakery shipping clerk. Alfred's son Glen W. is 22, born in Kanss.

Pearl and Alfred, a janitor, are in Colorado Springs in 1940, living alone.

Pearl was living in Sacramento in 1964.


Pearl (Scotten) Stubblefield 1882-1978 is buried in Sacramento, California # 76755222, with Alfred Chaarles Stubblefield 1883-1954.

Pearl Scotten was born October 8, 1882 in Hendricks County, Indiana, acording to her brother's obituary. Nathan Elmer Scotten died in Canon City April 1973, and is buried there # 14778620.

Myrtle Wade (Scotten) Helsel 1878-1919 is buried in Canon City, COlordo # 14778550.

ETHEL

Ethel Bernice LaRue and Frank V. Carr married on August 17, 1921 in El Paso County, Colorado.

Frank was in Oklahoma in 1900 and 1910 census, with his parents and their large family.

Eli Carr was appointed postmaster of Carr Crossing, Lincoln County in March 1915.

1915 "Bid for carrying the mail from Sugar City to Carr's crossing, the new postoffice in the Sand arroya country have been called for the aecond time, on account of one of the lowest bidders not having filed his bond with his bid. The postoffice is 28 miles from Sugar City, making a round trip of 56 miles, trips to be made three times each week."

June 1915 "Sugar City—Postmaster Carr of Carr's Crossing is hauling tbe mail on the star route out of Sugar City now, making three trips weekly, leaving here on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays."

Eli claimed two quarters in township 17S 55W, Lincoln County, Colorado, in 1920.

1921 Lincoln County

The Jonathan Carr who claimed land in the same township is probably Eli's brother. They were in Montgomery County, Kansas in 1880, Johnathan 13, P. E. 17.

Frank claimed two quarters in the same township, also in 1920.

Frank was farming in Lincoln County in 1917 when registering for WWI, born Oct 18, 1892 at Independence, Kanas, farming on his homestead, single.

Frank V. Carr 1892-1925 is buried in Colorado Springs # 15581653.
So are his parents Pleasant Eli Carr 1863-1923 # 19672741 and Rosetta Eunice (Harris) Carr 1869-1951 # 19672736.

Jake H. Rohrbach and Bernice E. Carr married in El Paso Count on January 28, 1928.

Ethel Bernice (LaRue) Rohrbach 1901-1986 is also buried in Sacramento # 154823968.
Jacob Rohrbch was in Colorado Springs in 1920, age 16, born in Colorado, father in Switzerland, mother in Kentuky.
His mother Lydia is 45, widowed.

CECIL

Cecil is a surveyor in 1930 Los Angeles, 27, married to Joy F., 28 born in Illinois.

He registered for WWII in Wilmington, California, born August 20, 1904 in Iola, Kansas, working for the Atkinson - Pollock Companyy, nearest relatie A.C. Stubblefield.

Cecil Theodore LaRue 1904-1996 is buried in Los Angeles County # 71409861, mother's maiden name Marsh.
