THOMAS' FAMILY

In 1870 Linn County, Missouri, Alexander Jasmer is 40, Nancy 30, Allen 14, Agnes 10, David 6, Laura 4, and Ruth 1.

H.W. Finson and Mrs. Nancy Jasmer married on Sept 26, 1874 in Linn County, Missouri.

Thomas Orlando Finson was born March 8, 1877 at St. Catharine, Missouri to Henry W. Finson and Nancy Flynn.

In 1885 Knox County, Nebraska, Henry is a merchant, with Nancy 44 a milliner. Thomas is 8, Elmer 4, Laura 2.

Thomas enlisted in Co. C. 1st S.D. Infantry on April 25, 1898. He was born March 8, 1877 and died Feb 19, 1958, to be buried in Custer County Cemetery, Miles City, Montana.

In 1900 Knox County, Nebraska, Thomas Finson, born March 1877 in Missouri, is a drug clerk, with mother Nancy Finson, a milliner born Dec 1842 in Canada, father in New York, mother in Massachusetts.

Nancy 1837-1918 is buried in Knox County, # 92545845.
"Nancy Finson, an old time resident of this city, passed away Monday afternoon as a result of paralysis with which she had been afflicted for several years.
She was born at Hamilton, Canada, Dec 2, 1837, later moving to Cleveland, Ohio, where she was married to Allen A. Jasmer in 1854. Her husband died some years after and she came west to Missouri and in 1876 was married to Henry W. Finson.
She had two sons and three daughters from her first marriage, Allen A. Jasmer of Omaha, David G. Jasmer of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Chas. F. Pierce of Flanderau, S.D., Mrs. A.B. Watson and Mrs. H.A. Cheney of Creighton and two sons from her last marriage, Thomas O. Finson of Omaha and Elmer F. Finson of Los Angeles, Calif.
She was a member of the Episcopal church for more than 50 years. She was a great grand niece of General Putman of Revolutionary fame.
No needy person was ever turned from her door and she took a great interest in helping the down trodden.
She was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon in Greenwood cemetery, the service of the Episcopal church being performed by Rev. Reginold Crickmer of Niobrara. All of her children being present except her sons, Thomas and Elmer, who were unable to be present on account of sickness and distance. "

So is her daughter Agnes B. (Finson) Watson 1860-1940 # 92549277.

David G. Jasmer 1862-1933 is also buried in Knox County # 92546872.
"He leaves to mourn his loss one daughter, Mrs. Mildred M. Peterson of Webster City, Iowa; three brothers, Allen A. Jasmer of Chillicothe, Mo., Thomas O. Finson of Omaha, Neb., Elmer F. Finson of Los Angeles, California; three sisters, Agnes B. Watson and Mrs. H. A. Cheney of Creighton and Mrs. Charles Pierce of Missoula, Mont."

Laura A. Jasmer and Joseph N. Bailey married on Sept 8, 1882 in Linn County, Missouri.

Laura A. Jasmer and Joseph Bailey had Pansy Agnes Bailey Roberts on Sept 25, 1883 in Grantsville, Missouri.

L.A. Jasmer and C. F. Peirce married in Knox County on Nov 21, 1885.

In 1900 Moody County, South Dakota, Laura A. is 34, married 15 years to Charles Pierce 42. Pansy is 16.
Laura Jasmer Peirce 1865-1942 is buried in Knox County # 98560017..
"For a great many years, Mr. Peirce was Supervisor of Indian Schools in the Department of the Interior, U.S. Government, having lived at points in Wisconsin, South Dakota and Montana.
Mrs. Peirce was, for a number of years, quite active in Eastern Star work, having served for some seven years as Worthy Matron, Beulah Chapter O.E.S., at Flandreau, S.D. Later, after her husband passed away, she affiliated with Creighton Chapter, where she was a member at the time of her death.
Immediate survivors are three sons, Charles A. of Denver, Colo., Earl F. of Max, N.D., Raymond J. of Hamilton, Mont. and a daughter, Pansy A. Roberts, Rapid City, S.D. All families, except that of Raymond, attended the funeral services.
Other survivors of Mrs. Peirce are a sister, Mrs. Harry A. Cheney, Portland, Ore. and two brothers, Tom Finson, Creighton and Elmer Finson, Los Angeles, California."

Henry, 72, was back in Maine in 1900, living with brother John 76.

Henry is divorced in 1910, living in Boston, Massachusetts.

Henry Warren Finson 1828-1912 is buried in Hollywood, California # 7429642.
"First married in Massachusetts about 1861 to "Hattie", then married a 2nd time in Missouri to Mrs. Nancy Jasmer."

SUSAN'S FAMILLY

In 1880 Fremont, Nebraska, Wm. Newlon is 28, Ellen 22, Susie 2, and a nine-month-old daughter.

Jerusha Ellen Newlon 1857-1891, per # 13787268, was interred at Des Moines Iowa, but has a record of burial in Fremont, Nebraska.

In 1900 Susan B. Newlon, born Nov 1877 in Nebraska, is living with father William B. Newlon 50 and sister Blanch L. 18.

THOMAS AND SUSAN

Thomas, 28, son of H.W. and Nancy Finson, born in Missouri, married Susan B. Newton on July 2, 1904 in Fremont Nebraska. She was 26, born in Iowa to W. B. Newtolon.

Thomas was appointed postmaster in Leshara, Saunders County, Nebraska on June 17, 1907.


Thomas proved up two quarters in section 18 and 19, 7S 51W in 1915.

He's a real estate salesman in 1920 Omaha, 42, with Susan B. Finson 42 and nancy E. 12.

Thomas, 53, Susan 52, and Nancy 22 are in Omaha in 1930 - he's a stock and bond sales, and she's assistant manager of a hotel, and Nancy is a magazine saleswoman.

In 1940 Omaha, Thomas and Susan are hosts in a hotel,

Susan (Newlon) Finson 1877-1951 is buried in Fremont, Nebraska # 138886011.
Thomas 1877-1958 is buried in Miles City # 74310970.
