Michael and Katie Egan, 7 South 51 West


Michael timber-claimed a quarter in section 8, 7S 51W in 1896.

He might be the same one who cash-claimed a quarter in section 18, 1N 47W, Yuma County, in 1891, and proved up a quarter in 22, 1N 48W, Yuma County in 1895.

The Yuma postmaster advertised mail left for M. Egan in November 1899.

Kate Egan was delinquent on taxes for property in 19, 1N 48W in 1899.

Michael was delinquent on taxes in 1901 for property in 22, 1N 48W.

In March 1911 Michael Egan was named as a suit regarding land in 23, 1N 48W.
Other parties were Flora C. Hamm and Joseph A. Swartz.

He's probably the dealer in gentlemen's furnishings in 1900 Denver, born Nov 1857 in Ireland, immigrating in 1882, married 12 years to Catherine Oct 1872 in New York.
Katie Aug 1891, Michael June 1892, Mary April 1889, and Alice Sept 1894 were born inColorado.

Michael 1891-1975 is buried in Wheat Ridge, with Edith Caroline (Brobst) Egan 1893-1991.

Mary Frances Egan, daughter of Michael, was born in Denver on April 8, 1890 - when she applied for a passport in 1920 was living in Missouri.

In 1930 Washington, D. C. Mary F. Tierney is 43, born in Colorado, with Kathleen M. 21 and John I. 20. Mary Egan is 68, a grandmother, born in Illinois.
