"Donald Blakney, 69, of Colorado Springs died there on Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004. He was born Aug. 7, 1934 at La Junta to John and Edith (Bull) Blakney.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 6 at Fairview Cemetery in La Junta with Pastor Steven Heir of the New Hope Baptist Church officiating.
Mr. Blakney was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Laura; one son, Rodney; two daughters, Kim and Danae; one sister, Shirley Walter; three nephews, several cousins, good friend Phyllis Davis and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Rick Blakney.
Fred Bull, 23, married Charlsey Jones on May 4, 1938 in Beadle County, South Dakota. He lived in Sanborn, with a Woonsocket post office.
They're buried in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, Fred 1915-1966 # 17808393, with Charlsey F. 1901-1986.
