Fred C. Barnes, 7 South 51 West



Fred claimed a tract in section 1, 7S 51W in 1908.

Velma Allie (Campbell) and Mark Welch Barnes were Fred C. Barnes of Iowaa's parents.

In 1910 Mahaska County, Iowa, Fred is single, 24, an electrician for a railroad. Mark W. is 49, Velma A. 49, Harrison M. 21 and William R. 16 farming, Glenn 13, and Chester M. 5, all born in Iowa.
Mark W. Barnes 1860-1930 is buried in Mahaska County # 12530979, with Velma A. 1861-1914 # 12530981 and Lora (Cox) Barnes 1882-1967.

Fred C. Barnes, 31, son of Mark Barnes and Velma Campbell, married Nellie E. Masters on Feb 23, 1916 in Mahaska County, Iowa

Nellie was in Keokuk County, Iowa in 1900, born Oct 1892, with Wm. Masters 45 and May 39. Clarence is 15, Sadie 13, Rilla 10, Nellie 7, Forest 5, Pearly 4, and Fred 1.

In 1910 Mahaska County, Iowa, Andrew is 52, Mary 49, Rilla 20, Nellie 19, Forest 16, Pearle 12, and Freddie 9.
Sarah E. (Master) Kimble, born Feb 21, 1885 in Indiana to Andrew and mary Ellen Master, died Oct 22, 1969 in Kokomo, Indiana.

In 1910 Indianapolis, Sarah Allen is 22, married six years to Jesse A. Allen 26. She's had four kids, one living. Jessie D. is 1.

In 1920 Indianapolis, Sarah is 30, "Jossie" 12, and Mary Alice 5.

Sarah Allen, born in Iowa, married Oral A. Kimble on Sept 18, 1920 in Marion County, Indiana.

Fred Campbell Barnes registered for WWI in Des Moines, an assistant truck driver for a paper company, born Dec 9, 1885, living with Nellie at 1203 1/2 6th.

Maxine Alice Barnes was born May 6, 1916 in Vananda, Montana.

He's a farm laborere in 1920 Mahaska County, 36, with Nellie 27 and Maxine A. 3.

In 1930, Fred is a railroad carpenter in Adams County, Colorado, 44, with Nellie 37, Maxine A.13, and Frederick C. 9.

They're living on Lowell Boulevard in 1940, Fred a building carpenter, 54, with Nellie 47, Frederick 19 born i n Iowa and Shirley 9 in Colorado.

One tree said Fred died in February 1965 in Colorado.

MAXINE

Maxine Alice Barnes and Edward H. Dannenberg married in Denver on July 23, 1939.

In 1940 Englewood, Colorado, Edward is 22, Maxine 23. Edward works as a rubber finisher.

In 1945 he's working for GR Co, with Maxine living at 3714 Lowell.

Edward H. 1918-1990 is buried in Crown Hill, Jefferson County, and the marker has Maxine A. 1916-

Maxine Hawkins was living in Jefferson County, in 2004-2005, relatives possibly Edward H. Dannenberg, Harvey V. Hawkins.

Maxine Alice Hawkins - May 6, 1916-September 22, 2014 was listed in the Crown Hill notices.
"Born May 6, 1916 in Vananda, Montana to Fred and Nellie Barnes. She is survived by her loving family; sons, Edward (Carolyn) Dannenberg, Gary (Dixie) Dannenberg, and Kevin (Denise) Hawkins, daughters; Lynnette Hawkins, and Carolyn (Gary) Priola, ten grandchildren; Kimberly (Gary) Hammond, Jeff Dannenberg, Janelle (Shane) Mounce, Sergeant Robert Dannenberg (currently serving in Iraq), Ryan (Beth) Dannenberg, Cassidy Hawkins, Caitlin Hawkins, Kyle Hawkins, Kevin (Michelle) Priola, and Lena (Craig) Vanderlaan, also nine great grandchildren; Jessica Mounce, Samuel Dannenberg, Xandra Pilkington, Turin and Bremma Priola, Mari Priola, Joshua, Caleb and Eli Vanderlaan.
Memorial service on Thursday, September 25, 2014, 11am, at the Lakewood Church of the Nazarene, 1755 Dover St., Lakewood, CO 80215.
Maxine was laid to rest at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. "


FRED

Fred, per one tree, died January 26, 1945 in Indo-China.
Re-interred at National Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu 29 January 1945; BuNo 45309: PBM-3D. VPB-25.
While on a search mission, BuNo 45309 was damaged by hostile antiaircraft fire from a Japanese ship. It was forced to land near Tam Quan, Indochina. All crewmen reached shore and were aided by French resistance.
Aviation Radioman 2nd Class Charles L. Hamilton was rescued by an Australian submarine Aviation Radioman 3rd Class Vincent M. Grady and Ens. William Arthur Quinn were captured by the Japanese, but survived.
The rest of the crew were killed or executed by Japanese forces. KIA included: Lt. J. L. Stevenson; Ens. Dwaine Meridith Peterson; Aviation Machinist's Mate 3rd Class Warren H. Daley; Aviation Machinist's Mate 3rd Class Thomas J. McGowan; Aviation Machinist's Mate 3rd Class Donald H. Douglas; Aviation Machinist's Mate 2nd Class Frederick C. Barnes; Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class Gordon Hugh Yates (POW beheaded by Japanese); Seaman 1st Class Joseph N. Venditti

SHIRLEY

Shirley Mae Stern, born August 17, 1930 in Colorado to Fred Chester Barnes and Nellie Edith Masters, both of Iowa, married Vanise James Pratt born Nov 4, 1935 in Montana, on August 31, 1974 in Yellowstone County, Montana. Both had been married once, divorced.
