"Opha Vought, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Vought, of this city,
was married recently at Hugo, Colorado, to C. Witzel, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Miss Vought has been proving up a claim in Colorado and consequently had been
living there for a year and had resided on her quarter section just the time
required by the government, and celebrated the event by getting married the day she
proved up her claim. She has resided in Hampton most of her life and is a
highly respected young lady in every way, and her numerous friends
in this vicinity extend to their hearty well wishes for a happy future.
Mr. Witzel is a young man unknown to Hampton people, but is highly regarded by
acquaintances. The couple will make their home at Williamsburg, Iowa, where he
will engage in the farm implement business."

February 20, 1914 Marshalltown, Iowa. "C. Wetzel and daughter Alice, of Hampton, arrived in the city Thursday to visit until Saturday at the home of his sister, Mrs. W.E. Anderson. Mr Wetzell (sic) will go to Cedar Rapids Saturday to spend Sunday with relatives."
Chris is farming in 1915 Franklin County, Hampton post office, born in New Jersey, married.
Grace O. Wetzel, 36, is also there.

In 1920 Linn County, Iowa, Chris Wetzel is a stationary engineer, widowed, 45, with Alice L. 10, Jeannette V. , and Elizabeth 4. Chris and his father Henry Wetzel 71, also widowed, are living iwth Larua (Wetzel( Wagley, 42 and her husband Fred 43.
In 1930 Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Christian is 55, widowed, running a fruit commission house. Alice is 20, Jenanette V. 19, adn Elziabeth O. 14.
Christian was born in Virginia on October 6, 1874 to Henry Wetzel of Germany.
He died in Austin Texas on November 13, 1949, informant Alice White,
to be buried in Hampton, Iowa.
Opha Grace Vought and Christian Wetzel had Alice Lucile Wetzel on May 19, 1909 at Williamsburg, Iowa County, Iowa.
Alice married James Louis White on January 7, 1930 in Linn County, Iowa.
They're in Montgomery County, Maryland in 1940, James 34, and Alice 31, both born in Iowa. Karen D. is 5, born in D.C. James is a dairy salesman.
Jeannette V. Wetzel, 20, married Roy O. Williamson in Washington, D.C. on June 4, 1931.
She died in November 1992, last residence Chester, Pennsylvania.
Elizabeth Ophelia Wetzel, 21, of Arlington, Virginia,
married George Howard Parkman, 34, in Arlington on November 28, 1936.
In 1940 Washington, George is 37, Elizabeth 29, Jacqueline A. 2, and Charles H. 1.
Jacqueline Anne was born July 3, 1937 in Washington, name Wirt in 1955,
and Smith in 1955, dying April 27, 2003 in Alexandria, Virginia.
One family member wrote "My mother Jeannette Vought Wetzel, was from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.Older sister Alice, younger sister Elizabeth.Their mother ( my gma) Ophelia Vought, died in childbirth with Elizabeth.Father Christian was devastated, never got over the loss, never remarried.He died in 1949 in Austin, Texas, where my aunt Alice and Uncle .."
