John M. Lyons, 7 South 50 West
John proved up a quarter in section 29, 7S 50W in 1913.
Possibly the John Morris Lyons, born Sep 13, 1874 in Kendall County,
Illiois to S.A. Lyons of Warren Pennsylvania and Margaret Morris of
Stockbridge, New York, dying June 14, 1931 in Kendall County, spouse Mabel.
John was in Pueblo, Colorado in 1917 and 1920, so he got around.
John M. Lyons, 33, married H. Augustine Thompson, 21
in Leavenworth, Kansas on August 20, 1907.
John was in Jackson County, Missouri in 1910, 35,
a bookkeeper for an implement house,
married three years to Gussie E. 23, Missouri,
a music teacher - her second marriage.
So John could have had some time to prove up a claim....
John M. and Gussie E. Lyons divorced in Pueblo County, Colorado in 1918.
In 1918 and 1919, Gussie E. (widow of John M.) is living at 3528 Bellefontaine Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.
John Morris Lyons registered for WWI in Pueblo, Colorado, living at 916 N. Main, born Sept 13, 1873, a traveling salesman for Emerson Brantingham Company of Rockford, Illinois. His reference was Margaret Lyons of Plano, Kendall County, Illinois.
In 1920 Pueblo, Colorado, John is 47, single,
a commercial traveler for a farm implement company, boarding with Minnie Gay.
April 1922 a notice in the Implement & Tractor said "Burns Kansas - The Burns Hardware Co. has purchsed the stock of J. M. Lyons."
He is NOT the John M. Lyons in 1900 Boulder, Colorado, a druggist born Nov 1858 in Ohio, married 12 years to Elizabeth April 1865 Pennsylvania. Agnes 9, Norma 8, Mary 5, Alice 3, and Elizabeth one month were all born in Colorado.
John W. Lyons, buried Nov 22, 1909, is buried in Pueblo, per # 137316246.
John Lyons buried Dec 15, 1910 is also buried in Pueblo, per # 121743458.
The 1910 Pueblo Colorado census has Elizabeth as widowed, with Agnes 19, Norma 18, Mary R. 15, Alice 14, John D. 7, Rugh 4,k and Andrew 1.
In 1920 Pueblo, Elizabeth is 54, Agnes 29, Norma 27, Mary 24, Alice 23, John 17, Ruth 14, and Andrew 11.
September 16, 1925 Steamboat Springs "John Lyons, a pioneer of South Williams forks,
died recently in Canon City, where he has made hia home for several years.
He is survived by his wife and a brother and sister, Mike Lyons of Ireland and Margaret Sullivan of Canon City.
Also mentioned as legatees in his will are his nephews, Joseph Tehan, Charles Whalen of Pagoda,
and a niece, Mrs. Mary Reardon of Woodside, Long Island."
