In 1857 he came to Nebraska, locating on the farm, four miles east of Columbus, which was afterwards his home during all these years. For some time there were only two houses between his own and Fremont. A few years ago, in the month of June, Mrs. Haney died, and Mr. Haney never recovered from the irreparable loss of his life companion. Some three and a half years ago, his horse ran away, throwing him to the ground, injuring him so severely that he never gained health and strength.
The funeral was held Sunday, a large concourse of people following the remains to the Catholic church, where services were held, and from there to the cemetery near by.
