His father died in December 1966 Fremont, Ohio" Funeral services for Jesse Garfield Smith, 87,
St. Helen, Mich., who died Wednesday night at his home, will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Weiler
- Wonderly funeral home. The Rev. Ralph Metheny of Hayes Memorial Methodist church will officiate,
with burial in Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Smith was born October 24, 1879 in Fremont,
son of Josiah and Emma Sherrard Smith. He had been in the photography business in Toledo
before moving to Roscommon county, Michigan, 27 years ago. He had been a construction
contractor in Michigan.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marian Kelsey, Toledo, a sister, Mrs. Bert (Lulu) Hughes,
east McPherson Highway, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Nellie Johnson, five brothers, one sister and a son."
