February 22, 1949 Redding California, " Martin Swayze, 72, resident of Hayfork for the past 23 years,
died Sunday night in a bay area hospital, where he had been a patient for three months.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p m Thursday in the Hayfork Community church,
with the Rev. Howard Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Hayfork cemetery.
Arrangements are pending at McDonald’s chapel.
A native of Canada, Swayze was a retired laborer. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Hattie Swayze of Hayfork,
two daughters, Mrs. Veda Laffranchlni and Mrs. Cora Coumbs both of Hayfork, two sons, Richard Swayze of Redding and Roy Swayze of Texas, a sister, Mrs. Bertha Smyth of Texas, and six grandchildren and one greatgrandchild."

"Veda M. Harris, 90, a former Hamilton resident, died Monday in Spokane, Wash.
She was born Sept. 21, 1889, in Riverside and was raised and educated in the Bitterroot Valley.
She married Frank E. Harris in Hamilton on 1909. The couple moved to Kansas in 1920,
and in 1943 they returned to the Hamilton area. Mr. Harris died in 1948,
and Mrs. Harris moved to the Spokane area where she had since resided. She was also preceded in death by
one son and one sister. She is survived by three sons, W.J. and E.W., both of..."
