June 18, 1933 Lincoln " Samuel August Samuelson was born in Ostergotland, Sweden, July 24, 1853.
He was baptized and confirmed in the State Church of Sweden. In 1875 he came to America,
and located in the state of Illinois near Peoria, where he lived for about eight years.
While in Illinois he was united in marriage to Marie Swanson at Toulon on March 26, 1878.
Into this union eight children were born: three sons: John Edwin and Charles and five daughters:
Ella, Alma, Anna, Hilda, and Edna. One daughter, Mrs. August Johnson preceded her father in death.
The departed came to Nebraska in 1883 and settled near Waverly, and for the greater part of his time
he and his wife have lived in Ceresco. Our brother has been a very strong man until about a year
and a half ago when his health began to fail. He was called to the world beyond on Friday evening,
June 16th, at the age of 79 years, 10 months, and 22 days.
He leaves to mourn his departure his bereaved wife and seven children: John, Edwin, and Charles,
Mrs. John Edner, Anna Samuelson, Mrs. Claude Cameron, and Mrs. Fred Anderson,
seventeen grand children, three great-grand children, and a large number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from the home and from the Mission Church on Monday afternoon,
June 19, with Rev. J. A. Jones in charge. Mrs. Joseph Nelson and Miss Verle Engstrom sang duet,
Miss Engstrom also sang a solo.
The pastor spoke words of hope and comfort, basing his message upon the 4th verse of the 23rd Psalm. The following served as pallbearers: John Samuelson, Ed Samuelson, Charlie Samuelson, John Edner, August Johnson, and Fred Anderson. The body was laid to rest at the Bethleem cemetery."

Died there at his home Friday evening. Surviving are his wife, three sons, John, Cd, and Charlie,
all of Ceresco, four daughters, Mrs. Claude Cameron, Lincoln, Mrs. John Edner, Mrs. Fred Anderson,
and Miss Anna, Ceresco. Services will be held at the home Monday, and at the
Mission Church at 2 p. m."

"John Sanford Samuelson of Waverly died Dec. 26, 1952, after an illness of several years. He was born near Peoria, I11.,
on Nov. 10, 1878, and was baptized and later joined the Bethlehem Covenant Church. On May 31, 1905,
he was married to Hilda Christine Boquist and they lived near Waverly for 37 years.
Surviving are his wife, Hilda; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Johnson and Mrs. Elvera Johnson of Waverly;
a son, Oliver Samuelson of Waverly;
four sisters; two brothers; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Services were Dec. 30 at Bethlehem Covenant Church. Pallbearers were nephews: Wayne Anderson,
Alvin Knudsen, Wilber Boquist, Deryl Samuelson, Russell Cameron,
Wilber Samuelson. Burial was in the Bethlehem Covenant Church cemetery."
