"J. P. Brewer of this city received word
last week that his mother, Mary E. Brewer,
had passed away at Casper, Wyoming,
on Monday, June 11th, and the funeral was
held in that city the following day.
The deceased was 86 years, two months,
and 10 days old at the time of her
death.

She was born in Illinois,
April 1, 1842, and about 54 years ago
she moved to Nebraska and settled on a
homestead in Butler county.
Several years later she moved onto a
farm with her family in Colorado
and lived in that state until 1922,
when she moved to Casper to live
with a daughter.
In 1920 her husband passed away at
the age of 84 years. The late
Mrs. Brewer is survived by six sons and
six daughters. Mr. Brewer of this city is
the youngest member of the family."

" Freada W. Brewer, 90, of Hartington died
Sunday in a care center in Hartington.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in
Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington.
The Rev. Keith Holste will officiate.
Burial will be in Hartington City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today in
the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Mrs. Brewer, the former Freada W. Kuhl,
was born April 8, 1896, in Nemaha County.
In 1900 she moved with her family to the
Coleridge and Hartington area.
From 1908 to 1910 they homesteaded in
Stanley County, S.D. From 1910 to 1915
they lived at Hartington and from 1915 to
1918 in Burlington, Colo.
She married Joseph Palmer Brewer
Jan. 3, 1918, in Burlington. The couple
lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, from 1920
to 1925. They had lived in Hartington
since 1925 except for a brief period
during World War II. Mrs. Brewer was a
member of Trinity Lutheran Church,
Royal Neighbors and Hartington VFW
Post 5283 Auxiliary.
Survivors include four sons,
Howard of Lexington, Delbert of Lincoln,
James of Livonia, Mich., and Lowell of
Irving, Texas; a brother... "

Cameron Brewer, 43, died Sunday, September 29,
at Park Ridge, Ill. He had been ailing
for some time before undergoing major
surgery last week at an Illinois hospital.
Mr. Brewer, the son of Mrs. Freoda
Brewer of Hartlngton and Joe Brewer of
Flippln, Ark., was born August 20, 1918,
at Burlington, Colo. The family came
to Hartlngton in 1925. He was
a graduate of Hartlngton high school
and was employed as a postal clerk here.
He spent four years in the United
States Navy.
Following his years in service,
he went to Park Ridge and worked as
a postal clerk there. Mr. Brewer was
married in June 1948 to Miss Dianne
Kuklewicz. He is survived by his
wife, his parents, and four brothers
— Howard and Lowell of Dallas Texas
James, Orlando, Fla.,
and Delbert, Lavonna, Michigan."
DELBERT
Lincoln, Nebraska, July 28, 2013 "Delbert L. Brewer, 86, a former resident of Hartington, Neb.,
died July 25, 2013, in Lincoln. Delbert was born on February 1, 1927 in Hartington and graduated from
Hartington High School in 1944. He attended the University of Nebraska before enrolling in Morningside
College, where he graduated in 1954 with a major in accounting. He was an auditor with the U.S. Army Audit
Agency from 1954 until 1965, with increasing responsibilities, including auditor-in-charge at Continental
Motors Corporation in Muskegon, Michigan, Resident Auditor at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor,
Managing Auditor of Chrysler Corporation and as assistant District Manager of the Detroit Branch office.
In 1965 he joined the Defense Contract Audit Agency and was transferred to Chicago as the Chicago Branch
Manager, and in 1978 was promoted to Regional Audit Manager, with overall responsibility for the entire
states of Missouri, Michigan and the northwestern part of New York state,
which included diverse contractors such as McDonnell Douglas, General Dynamics, and Emerson Electric
in St. Louis; Chrysler, Bendix, and Continental Motors in Michigan, and University of Rochester,
Syracuse University and Cornell in New York. Costs subject to audit in his area of responsibility
often exceeded $10 billion annually.
Delbert moved to Lincoln, NE after retiring in 1982. He served in the Merchant Marine
and in the Army during World War II, and later served in the Army on two more occasions,
attaining the rank of Captain. He was a combat infantry officer and was awarded twenty medals
and decorations including the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Army Commendation,
and the U.S. Marine Corps Presidential Unit Citation and Unit Commendation, Philippine Liberation
and Independence medals and others.
Delbert married Mildred I. Griesel of Belden, Neb. on March 17, 1951, who preceded him in death
on May 20, 2005.
He is survived by sons, Steven W. of Marseilles, Ill., Cameron S. of Lincoln;
daughter, Carol Ann Carlson of Arlington Heights, Ill.; son-in-law, Roy Carlson;
daughter-in-law, Marylou Brewer; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter.
