In 1910 Kit Carson County, Carl is farming 72, with Appolonia 65, and Martin 20, all three born in German Russia.

Karl 83 and Appolonia 66 are alone in 1920 Kit Carson County.

Karl is buried in Bethune 1837-1920 # 69730791. Apollonia 1853-1932 is buried in Greeley # 69787327, with Albert 1904-1934.
April 19, 1954 Greeley "Robert Gobeli, of 1606 Seventh street, was sentenced to two to four years for assault with a deadly weapon, in the shooting of Albert Weiss of Evans on Feb. 19. The shooting was over alleged alienation of affections of Mrs. Gobeli, who had obtained an inter-locutory decree of divorce earlier in the week. The court considered that the action was during a period of emotional stress, Judge Carpenter said. However, probation denied in keeping with the court policy of not granting probation where violence is involved. "

JOHN

John Weiss 1893-1973 and Bertha Weiss married in Weld County, Colorado on May 27, 1929. She's buried in Bethune, dying November 1969 in Howell County, Missouri # 69766921.
1969 "Mr. and Mrs. Gary Weiss, South Elgin, Illinois, announce the arrival of their first child, a daughter, born at Sherman Hospital, Elgin, on June 13. Weighing 6 pounds, 15 ounces, she was named Carmine Ray. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Chase, Meriden; Mrs. Mary Weiss of South Elgin; Great-grandparents are Mrs. Ned Bork of Marcus and Mrs. Bertha Weiss of West Plains, Mo. "

In 1940 Sacramento, California, John is 48, no occupation, Bertha 37, both born in Germany, with Dorothy M. 9, born in COlorado.

Emma (Stutz) Weiss, born February 23, 1892 at Yale, Colorado, died in Long Beach December 11, 1974.

John is buried in Bethune, dying in Los Angeles County # 69766586.

BERTHA

1964 Lodi, California " An extended illness came to an end yesterday morning in a local hospital for Mrs. Bertha Schmidke, 59, when she passed away some 28 hours after fulfilling one of her last greatest desires, that of returning to Lodi, her former residence.
Mrs. Schmidke and her husband, Mr. Sam Schmidke, left Lodi little more than a year ago and became residents of Loveland, Colo.; Two weeks ago, on December 12, four of the couple's children, who live in Lodi and vicinity, left to be at the bedside of their mother and immediately began making arrangements for her return to Lodi.
At 5 o'clock Christmas morning, Mrs. Schmidke arrived in a local hospital where she spent the last few hours of her struggle for life with relatives and friends she wanted to see "just once more" before her inevitable passing.
A native of South Russia, she came to the United States in 1909 and settled in Bethune Colo. She and her husband moved to Lodi in 1934. She was a member of the local Church of God.
She is survived by her husband, Mr. Sam Schmidke, who returned with her, and the following children: Mrs. Emma M. McDowell, Lodi; Emil Schmidke, Lodi; Mrs. Elsie Mittleider, Hawaii; Theodore Schmidke, Sacramento; Esther Appel, Lodi; Lee Schmidke, Clay; Mrs. Hulda Schleining; Sacramento and Mrs: Miriam Werner, Lodi.
Also surviving are two sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Wilhelmina Stalecker (Stahlecker), Loveland, Colo.; Mrs. Josephine Stalecker (Stahlecker), Loveland, Colo.; Gottfried Weis (Weiss), Bethune, Colo.; Martin Weiss, Bethune; Colo., and John Weiss, Pacific Beach.
Mrs. Schmidke had eight grand-children, Rose, Marie and Marjorie McDowell, Lodi; Gail, William and Nadine Schmidke; Lodi; Kenneth and Donna Donna Schleining, Sacramerlto, and Diainna Appel, Lodi.
Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the chapel of the Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Shaffer, pastor of the local Church of God, officiating."

JAKOBINE

" Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Stahlecker, 79, who died July 18, 1963 at the Memorial Hospital, were held Saturday, July 20, at the Hendricks chapel at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Walter Rath of the First St. Paul's American Lutheran Church officiating. Pallbearers were William Stolz, Lee Weisshaar, Ruben Ziegler, David Weiss, Herman Adolf and Carl Adolf. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Fred Stahlecker was born Jakobine Weiss on Sept. 11, 1883, in Artzies, South Russia, the daughter of Carl and Catherine Weiss. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church there. She came to the United States in the spring of 1902 and was married to Fred at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Yale, now Bethune. Five children were born to this union.
In November, 1951 they moved to Burlington after living most of their married life on the farm in the Settlement, except for short periods of time when they lived in Loveland and in Oregon. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, one brother and three grandchildren. Survivors include two ,daughters, Hulda Ziegler of Burlington and Amanda Berendt of Englewood; three sons, Emil of Vallejo, Calf., Robert of Burlington and Herbert of Evansville, Wyo.; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Zirnmerman of Loveland; two brothers, Martin Weiss of Bethune and John Weiss of Imperial Beach, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren."

MINNIE

"October 29, 1969 Loveland Colorado "Minnie Stahlecker Zimmerman of 318 St. Louis. Wife of Jacob Zimmerman. Mother of Mrs. Carl (Clara) Adolf, Bethune, Colorado.; Mrs. Reinhold (Emma) Weiss, Mrs. Albert (Bertha) Stolz, and George Stahlecker, all of Loveland; William Stahlecker, Bethune; Otto Stahlecker, Bertheud, and John Stahlecker, Fort Collins. Grandmother of 36, great-grandmother of 43. Sister to John Weiss in California and Martin Weiss, Bethune. Services 10:30 a.m. Saturday from Hunters' Garden chapel. Interment Loveland Burial Park."


GOTTFRIED

Gottfried Weiss claimed a quarter next to Karl in section 21 in 1913.

" Gottfried Weiss, age 73 years, 1 month and 23 days, son of Carl and Katherine (Statle) Weiss, was born in Ardceese, Russia, March 5, 1885, and was baptized March 21, 1885, in the Lutheran church. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Ardceese, Russia, April 2, 1900.
Gottfried and his parents came to America in 1902, moving to Bethune, where he homesteaded his farm northwest of town. In 1907 he was united in holy matrimony to Mary Weiss at Bethune, in Immanuel Lutheran church. To this union five children were born: William Weiss of Ipswich, S.D., Otto Weiss of Bethune, Emma Bauder of Burlington, Albert Weiss of Bethune, and Reinard Weiss of Burlington.
He resided on his farm from 1902 until 1952. In 1935 Gottfried and his family went to. California, but after a few months came back to the farm. In 1952 he sold his farm and moved to Burlington.
He enjoyed good health until 1952 when he began to fail. In November, 1957, he became more seriously ill, and on April 10, 1958 was taken to the Memorial hospital in Burlington where he passed away on April 28 at 11:00 p.m.
He and his family were members of Immanuel Lutheran church, Bethune, until moving to Burlington when he transferred his membership to St. Paul Lutheran church. He was a faithful church member all his life and a very kind father.
Gottfried and his wife, Mary, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Feb. 16, 1957, with all the children and their families present, together, with Rev. Flesner and Rev. Boese from Immanuel Lutheran church, and many friends and relatives. He is survived by his wife, five children, 16 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters. His two step sisters, parents and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 5, at two o'clock at St. Paul's Lutheran church, with Pastor D. W. Flesner officiating. earers were Arnold Bauder, Milbert Beringer, Eilert Weiss, Larry Weiss, Fred Ziegler, Jake Weisshaar. Burial was at Fairview cemetery."

"Emma K. Bauder (nee Weiss) daughter of Gottfred and Mary Weiss, was born on Oct. 1, 1911, at the family home north of Bethune, Colo. She was baptized and confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Bethune in 1935.
On Nov. 17, 1929, she was united in marriage to Albert Bauder. They made their home on the farm northwest of Burlington and then later in the town of Burlington. Seven children were born to this union; Calvin, Arnold, Bob (Robert), Darlene, Geraldine, and Jerry (Gerald).
Albert and Emma were pleasantly surprised in October, 1979 when their children traveled to Burlington to honor them for their 50th wedding anniversary.
Emma was preceded in death by her father and mother, her son Jerry, and infant boy, a grandson (Robert Jr.), and a daughter-in-law, Pat of Torrance, Calif. She leaves to mourn in her passing, her husband Albert; son Calvin, daughter-in-law Alice and family of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; son Arnold of Torrence, Calif.; son Bob, daughter-in-law Donna and family of Denver; daughter Darlene of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and daughter Geraldine, and son-in-law Don Carson and family of Burlington; four brothers: Bill, Otto, Albert, and Reinhart, and many friends and relatives.
Emma suddenly passed away of heart failure on April 16, 1980. She would have been 69 years of age Oct. 1, 1980. Emma will be greatly missed by her family and many community friends. She was a devoted wife, homemaker, and mother, especially enjoying her home and garden.
Contributions may be made to Bethel Assembly of God Church in the name of Emma Bauder.
Funeral services were held at Bethel Assembly of God Church, Burlington, Monday, April 21, at 10:30 am with Rev. Wm. Behrman officiating. Ginger Behrman was organist and soloist for the musical numbers. Casket bearers were Calvin Bauder, Alvin [Arnold] Bauder, Bob Bauder, Don Carson, Doyle Bates and Dan Gay. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Burlington."

REINHOLD

In 1915 South Dakota, Reinhold is 26, married in 1911, arriving in 1904.

Reinhold claimed a quarter in section 5, 7S 45W in 1916.

He's single in 1920 Kit Carson County, 24, born in Russia, immigrating in 1910, naturalized in 1915.

Reinhold, 35, married Emma J. Stahlecker, 18 on February 11, 1926 in Bethune. O. Kloeckner performed the ceremony.

In 1930 Kit Carson County, Reinhold is farming, 40, born in Russia, Emma J. 22, Lorin C. 3, and Betty M. 1, all three born in Colorado.

They're farming in Larimer County, Colorado in 1940, Reinhold 49, Emma 32, Lorin 13, Betty 11, Edna 9, and Orlando 2.

Reinhold 1889-1965 is buried in Loveland, Colorado # 31549963, with Emma J. (Stahlecker) Zimmerman 1908-2000 # 37573240. She was the daughter of Karl Weiss and Katherina Stadel.

Lorin C. Weiss, 28, married Charline E. Shaw, 23, on July 23, 1955 in Los Angeles County.
He's buried in Orange COunty 1926-2003 # 37595096.

Betty M. Wiess, 22, married Dominick B. Santoro, 31, in Los Angeles County on February 3, 1952, dying May 1982.

Edna P. (Weiss) Perry 1931-1999 is buried in Fort Collins # 141655152, with Donald J. Perry whom whe married in 1949.

Orland G. Weiss, 35, married Bonnie K. Lauxman, 30, on December 16, 1972 in Orange County, California.
He died October 20, 2014, children Cynthia Marie and Sandra Jean of Los Angeles.

MARTIN

In 1912, witnesses for the claim of Manzel Baeria for land in 27, 7S 45W were August Adolf, William G. Davis, Fred Stutz, and Martin Weiss, all of Bethune, Colorado.

Martin claimed two quarters in sections 22 and 27, 7S 45W in 1920.

" Funeral services for Martin Weiss were held Thursday, July 22, 1971 at 2 p.m. at the Hendricks Chapel in Burlington. The Rev. James Crow and the Rev. Herbert Schaal officiated at the services.
W.R. (Bob) Hendricks was soloist for the musical numbers, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Milton Sharp. Casket bearers were six grandsons, Gary Adolf, Lee Schlichenmayer, Dale Schlichenmayer, Jim Kniss, Richard Kniss, and Duane Hall.
Burial was at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Bethune beside his wife and son.
Martin Weiss, son of Carl and Katherine (Statle) Weiss, was born in Ardceese, Russia on Oct. 30, 1889 (*most likely 1890). He came with his parents to America in 1902 to Bethune. He later homesteaded on his farm where he and a son David were living until his death.
He was married March 16,1911 to Lydia Schmidke; to this union were born eight children. Those preceding him in death were his wife, Lydia, on June 29, 1936; 1 son, James on June 11, 1937; 2 grandsons, Ray Schlichenlnayer on Feb. 18, 1982 and Ronald Hull on March 13, 1971; three sisters, 1 brother, 2 stepsisters and his parents.
Mr. Weiss was a farmer and a veterinarian most of his life. He was hospitalized off and on for two years, and had been in the hospital 13 days before his death on July 19, 1971. Martin was well liked and will be missed by his children and his friends. He reached the age of 81 years, 8 months and 19 days.
Those surviving are his children: Carl Weiss, Denver; Irene Adolf, Burlington; Amanda Hull, Tucson, Ariz.; Anna Schlichenmayer, Bethune; Hulda Kniss, Murray, Utah; Daniel and David Weiss, Bethune; also 1 brother, John Weiss of Florida, 18 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild and 18 great-grandchildren. "
