He might be related to the Elizabeth E. Kennedy
who cash-claimed a quarter in section 22, 8S 46W in 1890, and timber-claimed another in 1900 - six miles south of John's claim.

They're in Sidney, Nebraska in 1920, Owen R. 56, Jennett 50 born in Canada, with his daughters Leona 21 and Zella 17, both born in Minnesota.
Jeanette is buried in Singey 1866-1926 "Jeanette "Nettie" Kennedy Owens and her siblings Christie, Cassie, Alexander "Sandy" and Daniel were the children of James and Margaret (McEwen) Kennedy and they grew up near Walnut Grove, Minnesota. Nettie Kennedy and her siblings were childhood friends of Laura Ingalls Wilder and her sister Mary. Many years later, they became the real life models of the characters by the same names in Wilder's book "On the Banks of Plum Creek" and she also wrote about them in her autobiography "Pioneer Girl." Nettie was born in Canada and moved with her family to Minnesota as a young child. She grew up in Redwood and Lyon Counties and became a teacher. She lived with her parents until after her father's death and then moved to Colorado and lived with her brother. She married a widower, Owen R. Owens on June 11, 1913 in Arriba, Lincoln County, Colorado.(Owen had also grown up in Lyon County, Minnesota, and they may have been old friends.) Nettie helped raised Owen's two daughters by his first marriage, Leona and Zella Owens. The couple settled in Sidney, Cheyenne County, Nebraska, where Nettie died in March 1926."
Elizabeth Kennedy, had married Cassius Hanks, and they're in Lincoln County, in 1940, with mother Margaret 80.
Zoa Ruth Hanks and ChArlie Talmage Spears married in Lyon County, Minnesota on July 22, 1916.
Margaruite Hanks, 24, married W.F. Self on March 2, 1921 in Lincoln County.
Margaret 1896-1983 is buried in Springfield, Missouri # 7686780.
