In 1855 Mr. and Mrs. Bevier moved to Stark county, Illinois, where they lived most of their married life. From Illinois they moved to Exira, Audubon county, Iowa, when in 1880 God called his loving companion to be at rest.
In 1887 Mr. Bevier came to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. P. L. Smirl of Craig, who cared for him thro his suffering with a devotion that was tender and constant until his death, which was caused by pneumonia, Dec. 8, 1910, aged 90 years, 4 months 8 days.
His oldest son, L. H. Bevier, of Colorado was the only one of the absent children to reach his bedside before he died. Mr. Bevier knew him, they shook hands, laughed and talked together, neither realizing that within five hours the end would be.
His son Charles from Iowa; daughter Mrs. Etta Todd, of Oklahoma; and Mrs L. H. Bevier of Colorado arrived for the funeral, which was conducted by Rev. John Duncan from the Presbyterian church, of which he became a member in his 80th year. Mr. Bevier leaves three sons and six daughters to mourn his death."

January 12, 1911 "Again the Swift Messenger of death has thrust in his sharp sickle and with but little warning invaded the home of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Weaver who live 13 miles north of Burlington. On January 2nd Mr. Weaver was stricken with paralysis from which he never recovered and on the 6th of January 1911 the spirit winged its way from pain and suffering of this world to its home on High. Mr. Weaver was seventy years old. He moved here from Kansas City Mo three years ago and settled on a homestead where he spent his last days. He was a faithful husband and loving father patiently enduring the life we all know anyone must endure who makes a home on a homestead in Colorado. Mr. Weaver was the father of ninteen children, three of them preceded him to the home on High. He leaves to mourn his death a wife and sixteen children, friends who join us in extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family in this hour of sorrow and separation.
