John claimed a quarter in section 15, 7S 45W in 1891.

ONE POSSIBLE

He might be the one farming in 1900 Mills County Iowa. He was born August 1856 in England, immigrating in 1871, married eleven years to Lilly May 1870, with Elsie July 1890 and Hazel March 1894, all three born in Iowa.

John Barton and Lillie Pardoo had married on Sept 8, 1889 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Lilly had been in Council Bluffs in 1880, 9, with William "Pardo" 61, Lucy 46, Rosa 29, Wm. 27, Jo 21, Thos. 18, Dan 18, Rebecca 16, Lucy 13, Lilly 9, Myra 7, and Eliza 5.

ANOTHER POSSIBLE

In eastern Weld County the Masters post office was established in 1900, and John Barton, the owner of the 4-Bar Cattle Ranch named the site in honor of his foreman, John Masters."
