In 1880 Cass County, Iowa, William White is farming, 52, born in Ohio, Lovina 43 Pennsylvania, Robert 22 Ohio, Lincoln 19 Iowa, Allice 16 Iowa, Margaret 15 Iowa, Thomas 12 Iowa, and Emma 9, Iowa.
William 1828-1891 is buried in Cass County, # 77356453.
"William White is a native of Richland County, Ohio, born during the year 1828. He immigrated to Marion County, Iowa, in 1853, where he improved a farm and there remained until coming to Cass County, Iowa, where he settled on a farm of one hundred and sixty acres of good land, situated in Lincoln township. He has a fine water supply on his farm for home and stock use, and his farm is known for its beauty and fertility. He was married in 1854 to Levina Hewitt. They have been blessed with eleven children -- Daniel, Laura, wife of Roland Finley, Robert, Willie, deceased, Lincoln, Alice, wife of Arthur Joy, Maggie, Thomas, Emma, Nora, Deceased, and John. "
Levina 1837-1922 is buried with William # 116111840.
"Levina Hewitt was born June 25, 1837, in Washington County, Pennsylvania and died in Anita, Cass County, Iowa, February 15, 1922 at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 15 days She was the eldest child of Daniel and Margaret Hewitt, to whom four children were born, all of whom are now deceased, except one sister living in Ohio. When Levina Hewitt was but two years of age, her parents moved to Licking County, Ohio, where she lived until her marriage to William W. White, In 1854. Mr. and Mrs White made their home there until 1858. At which time they moved to Marion County, Iowa, where they continued to reside until 1877, when they moved to Cass County, making their home in Lincoln Township until the death of Mr. White, which occurred in 1891. After whose death Mrs. White and her youngest son, John moved to Anita and lived there until her son became of age. For a number of years after, she lived with her Eldest daughter, Mrs R. W. Finley, at Craig, Colorado. In 1911, she returned to Anita, and has made her home continuously with her daughter, Mrs. A. J. Joy. Except for occasional visits to her other children and relatives.

Mrs. White was the mother of eleven children: Daniel White, now deceased; Mrs. Laura W. Finley, of Craig, Colorado; Robert E. White, of Pueblo, Colorado; William Harry White, who died in infancy; Lincoln White, (deceased); Mrs Alice Joy, of Anita; Mrs. Maggie Congdon; G. T. White; Mrs. Emma Cochran; Nora J. White, (Deceased); and John H. White. Mrs. White had 38 grandchildren; 31 of whom survive her and 43 great-grandchildren, 36 of whom are living. In addition to her surviving relatives, her departure is mourned by friends limited only by the extent of her acquaintance.

At the age of sixteen years, she united with the Baptist Church and remained, to the end of her days. A faithful communicant of the Church of her early childhood Choice. She strove, always, to order her life after the example of her savior. She possessed a wonderfully sweet and sunny disposition, all who knew her, loved her. To the very last, she retained full possession of every faculty of mind and memory. Her life was long and useful, and filled with worthy actions and good deeds, in calling her to well - deserved rest. The loss is great; almost inseparable to her children and near relatives. Yet there is great compensation in the memory of one so, kindly, good and gentle.

Funeral services were held at the A. J. Joy home in Anita, Sunday afternoon at 2:00 O'Clock, Conducted by Rev. McPherson, Pastor of the Massen a Baptist Church. Assisted by Rev. A. A. Robertson, of the Anita congregational church; Interment taking place in Lincoln Center Cemetery. A quartette, composed of Mrs. Dr. H. E. Campbell, Mrs. J. B. Lewis, G. F. Rasmussen and J. D. Peterson. Rendered the beautiful Hymn "Rock of Ages", "Pilot Me", and "Abide with Me". The Pallbearers were H. O. Stone, N. W. Way, A. B. Stone, S. W. Clark, M. C. Hutchison, Ira E. White.

Out of town relatives in attendance at the funeral services were Robert E. White, of Pueblo, Colorado; Laura Finley, of Craig, Colorado; J. W. Finley, grandson, of Chanute, Kansas; Wm. Congdon, grandson, of Powhattan, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Stevens, of Auburn, Nebraska; Mrs. Dick Benson, cousin, of Shenandoah, Iowa; Harry Fairholm, son - in - law of A. J. Joy


In 1900 Kit Carson County, Lincoln, born Feb 1861 in Iowa, married 16 years to Olive L., Oct 1863 in Illinois, have May E. Aug 1884 Iowa, Minnie L. Feb 1886 Iowa, Franklin E. Feb 1888 Iowa, Nellie A. July 1890 Iowa, Laura M. July 1893 Colorado, and Susie O,. Dec 1895 Colorado.

In 1910 Kit Carson County, Lincoln is 49, Olive 46, Earl 22, born in Iowa, Nellie 19 Iowa, Laura 16, Susie 14, and Ethel 6 born in COlorado.
Lincoln claimed a quarter in 35, 7S 43W in February 1901, and Robert next to him in December 1901.
The other White claims in the county are not near these.

LINCOLN

Lincoln 1861-1911 is buried in Burlington # 89743332.

"Again has this community been brought to a realization of the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death. On Saturday morning at about eleven o'clock as Lincoln White was working around the machinery used in sinking the Winegar well a couple miles south of town, he was stricken with what appeared to be a fainting spell. Mr. White was brought to this city and cared for by friends at one of the hotels, he continued in a semi-unconcious state until about ten o'clock Sunday evening when he passed away. Less than thirty six hours from health and strength to the final penalty that all must face.
Lincoln White was born near Pella, Iowa on February 2, 1861. Died December 17, 1911, aged fifty years, ten months and fifteen days. The subject of this obituary spent his early life in Iowa, attending the schools of that young state during the pioneer days, and was united in marriage with Miss Olive L. Taylor, one of the pioneers living near Anita, Cass County, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. White emigrated to eastern Colorado twenty years ago and filed on a homestead some twenty miles north east of Burlington, which has been their home for all these years, a pioneer of Kit Carson County enduring the hardships of a new country during the greater portion of his life.
He leaves to mourn their loss his loving helpmate and seven children, six girls and one son. The children (some of whom were unable to be present at the funeral) are Mrs. May Kressge of Minneapolis, Kansas, Mrs. Minnie Stevens wife of A. J. Stevens of Shenandoah, Iowa, Thomas Earl White of near Tuttle, Miss Nellie White, a teacher at Shenandoah, Iowa, and the Misses Laura and Susan, who are at home.
Funeral services were held in the Christian church on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
Elder C. A. Yerain conducting the impressive ceremony of that Society. Interment was had in the Burlington Cemetery. Many of the early settlers accompanying the remains to the silent tomb where the kind father and loving husband was laid to rest.

George Thomas White 1868-1941 died in Merced County California, per # 136747768.
Franklin E. White and Hazle Fern Ruddell, both of Burlington, married there June 19, 1911.

In 1920 Sherman County, Kansas, Franklin White is 31, married to Hazel F. 28 Illinois. Phil F. is 4 born in Kansas, Shirley M. 3 in COlorado. Hazel's sister Roldee M. Ruddell 20 is with them, born in Illinois.
Franklin is the Sherman County sheriff in 1930, 42, with Hazel F. 38, Phil F. 15, Shirley M. 13, Earlene E. 8, and Olive F. 6.
He's an auctioneer in Boulder County in 1940, 52, with Fern 48, Erline 18, and Olive 16. All were in Goodland in 1935. They have four elderly lodgers.

Franklin Earl White # 61518914 is buried in Longmont 1888-1968, with Hazel Fern (Russell) White 1891-1971.

"Earl as the family called him was the only boy in the family of seven children and had to work the farm ground on the homestead near Burlington, CO while his father was in town. He was always a very outgoing and happy person to be around. "
Hazel's father John Wesley Ruddell is buried in Texarkana 1866-1949 # 138256781.

Nellie A. White 1890-1999 is buried in Fort Collins # 91618198. "Nellie taught school in her early life, and then worked at Capper's Weekly in Topeka for many years. Nellie never married and never learned to drive. She was very independent and was self sufficient until she was well over 100 years old."


ROBERT

In 1880 Montgomery County, Iowa, Emma Stultz is 17, with parents Michael 44 and Eliza 42, and five younger siblings.
Her father Michael N. Stultz 1833-1917 is buried in Omaha # 74269809.

Eliza J. Stultz 1838-1907 is also buried in Omaha # 74269680.
(Her sister Anna Ream is buried in Washington 1868-1955 # 144844301.)
Robert E. White, age 24, son of William White and Leovina Barrett, married Ema F. Stults, daughter of M.V. Stultz and Eliza J. Brown, in Montgomery County Iowa January 12, 1882.

In 1900 Cass County, Iowa, Robert born Feb 1861 in Ohio, married 18 years to Emma Nov 1862 in Ohio, have Elmo Nov 1883 Iowa, Lulu July 1884 Iowa, and Lesley Nov 1895 Kansas.

In 1910 Jasper County, Missouri, Robert E. White is 52, married 28 years to Emma 46, boh born in Ohio. Emma has had four kids, three living. Elmo is a hotel clerk, 27, born in Ohio and Leslie 14 in Kansas.

In 1920 Pueblo, Colorado, Robert is a farmer 61, born in Ohio, with Emma 57 Ohio.

Robert 1858-1931 is buried in Pueblo # 135716456.
"Robert E. White, age 72 years, passed away at a local hospital Tuesday, May 5. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma White of the family home near Vineland; two sons, E.T. White and L.F. White of Pueblo; a daughter Mrs. Lulu Russell of San Rafael, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Tonlin of Denver, Colo. and Mrs. Emma Cochran of Millboro, S.D.; one brother Thomas White residing in California. Deceased was a member of the Christian church and Camp No. 7111, Modern Woodmen of America. The body is being cared for at the Davis Mortuary. Reported in the Pueblo Chieftain May 6 and 8, 1931."

Elmo Thomas White registered for WWI in Pueblo, farming for his father. Reference was Mrs. Elizabeth White of the same rural route address.
In 1920 Pueblo, E.T. is 36, Elizabeth 25, born in Arkansas. Their son Jake E. White is 1. With them is stepdaughter Mary E. Nall, 4, born in Texas.
(Elizabeth Costello, age 19, married C.K. Nall, 23, in Texarkana on January 12, 1913.)
In 1930 Pueblo, he's a grocery merchant, 46, with Elizabeth C. 34, Jack E. 11, Arthur T. 9, and Mary E. Nall15.

Elmo Thomas White 1885-1939 is buried in Roselawn cemetery, Pueblo.

Elizabeth is widowed in 1940 Pueblo, with only Arthur 19 - working in a retread shop -with her.
She died November 7, 1984 and is buried in Pueblo # 111356260 as Elizabeth C. (White) Dougherty.

Jack Edwin White, born at Pueblo Colorado October 31, 1918, to Elmo T. White and Elizabeth C. Costello, died in Wilbarger County, Texas November 13, 1959 from an auto accident. He was living at 5943 Willow Lane, Dallas. Informant was his wife Marjorie S. White. To be buried in Restland cemetery, Dallas # 91949396.
Marjorie S. White 1917-2009 is on the same stone # 91949420.

Mary Elizabeth McCarthy born March 9, 1915 in Texarkana to Charles K. Nall and Elizabeth Nall, died February 16, 2000.
"Mary E. McCarthy passed away Feb. 16, 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick J. McCarthy, in 1990. Also preceded in death by Patrick Joseph McCarthy II; mother, Elizabeth Dougherty; brothers, Art White and Jack White.
She is survived by her children, Gloria (Gene) DeBusk of Pueblo, Patricia (John) Denisi of Ontario, Calif., and Barbara Boyer of Denver; grandchildren, Deborah (Joe) Consonero, Tammy (Curt) Bartel, Rick Pryor, James (Jan) Pryor, Brenda Pryor and Patrick DeBusk; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Mary McCarthy was a past member of the St. Pius Auxiliary, as well as a past member of the Eagles Lodge 147, and an avid member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She will be remembered most as a spiritual guide for her family. She will be cherished by the many lives she touched, her family and her cat, Musashi. Visitation, 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Recitation of the rosary, 9:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21. Funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Both services at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1406 E. 21st, Pueblo, Colo., 81001. Entombment to follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary E. McCarthy to Immaculate Heart of Mary at the above address. "
