In 1880 Boulder County, Colorado, George is 27, farming, Mary 25, Arlie 4, Louis 3, all born in Illinois and George 1 in Colorado.

In 1885 Grand County, Colorado, Geo. W. Ward is a ranchman, 30, with Mary 30. They have Arlie 9, Louis 7, George 6, Madge 4, and Alice 1.


" Longmont, Colo., January 9, 1895 - Mrs. Mollie Ward, wife of George M. Ward, a prominent farmer near this city, and daughter of G. W. McCoy of this city, died last night of blood poisoning. Her life had been despaired of for several days. The funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian church."

January 1895 Boulder "George Ward was over from his farm near Longmont today. The death of his wife leaves him with five young children on his hands alone and he was compelled by reason of the loss of the wife and mother to abandon the intention of living in Boulder in order that the children might attend our school.

August 1895 Boulder "George Ward has proved his fine mechanica l abilities by the quickness with which he started the new peanut roaster in his sons confectionary at Peabody's old stand. George had sent for mechanics of all kinds and when they failed he took hold and in a minute or two the seductive odor of roasting peanuts permeated the atmosphere, the whistle on the machine was whistling busily and the Ward family was contented and happy."


In 1870 Macon County, Illinois, George McCoy is 34, Rebecca 38, both born in Pennsylvania. Mary is 15, Abby 13, Nasma 11, Henry 9, Dora 4, and newborn daughter, all born in Illinios.

In 1880 Boulder, George is 45, Rebecca 44, Norma 20, Henry 18, Dora 14, Jennie 10, Maud 5, and Gertie 2.
At Ordway, Colorado, July 20, 1899, of inflammation of the bladder, George W. McCoy, aged 64 years, 7 months and 17 days. The remains were brought to Longmont, arriving Saturday evening, and were met at the depot by members of Longmont Lodge No. 29, I. O. O. F. and escorted to the cemetery. Rev. E. F. Harris assisted in the ceremony which was mainly the ritual of the order. Mr. McCoy was well known in the vicinity of Longmont and much respected for bis integrity of character He has been a farmer all his life, but has taken an interest in Longmont and its affairs, having been a director in the Building and Loan Association for years.


George W. McCoy was born in Ohio, December 3, 1835, was married in Decator, Illinois, to Rebecca May, in March, 1854, nine children having been born to them. In March, 1873 he came to Colorado, settling in Arvada, his family joining him in May of the same year. They came to Longmont in November of 1874, where the family lived until January, 1897, when they removed to Ordway. He leaves a wife, five daughters and one son.

George's daughter Abbie Elizabeth (McCoy) Manners 1857-1933 is buried in Longmont, # 60873259.

Norma Belle (McCoy) Corbett 1859-1920 is buried in Longmont, # 60879415.

Dora L. (McCoy) Eveland 1868-1893 is buried in Silex, Missouri, # 98337514.

"In Denver, Wednesday evening, Oct. 5, 1898, at 8 o’clock, Arthur E. Slifer of Longmont and Miss Gertrude A. McCoy of Ordway, Colorado."

Gertrude Slifer 1877-1945 # 125286681 is buried in Twin Falls, Idaho, with Arthur E. Slifer 1875-1956.

In 1900 Otero County, Colorado, Arlie Ward born August 1875 in Illinois, and Madge Feb 1881 in Iowa, are with uncle Henry M. McCoy Dec 1861 Illinois, with Jennie June 1865 Iowa.
George's land was to be sold at auction in 1910.

George W. Ward 1852-1909 is buried in Longmont # 60886693, with Mary E. 1855-1895 # 60886698.

Louis E. Ward, born about 1878 at Decatur, Macon County, Illinois, to George W. Ward and Mary McCoy, married Maud B. Barrett in Silver Bow, Montana June 19, 1907.

George L. Ward, widowed, born about 1883 at Longmont, Colorado, married Goldie M. Nunnelly in Missoula Montana on February 4, 1926.
He died June 2, 1945 in Kootenai County, Idaho and is buried there # 98044564
Goldie M. (Jumper) Ward 1897-1934 is buried there # 71153432.


Arlie M. Ward 1875-1965 is buried in Ordway, Colorado # 30453205, with C. Charlotte Ward 1878-1953.



ELMER

In 1870 Jay County, Indiana, Jason Ward is 30, Rebecca 32, with "Burilla" 9, George M. 5, and Alonzo Ginger 14.
Jason Ward 1839-1896 is buried in Colorado Springs # 70969061, with Rebecca Ann Ward 1837-1921 # 70969084.
Rebecca Ann (Ginger) Ward died in Salt Lake City October 21, 1921. She was born October 27, 1837 in New Paris Ohio to Lewis Ginger and Rebecca McCreary.


In 1910 Colorado Springs, Elmer E. Ward is an inventor, 50 born in Ohio, with Rilla A. 49 Indiana. Alta M. 19 and Melvin J. E. 16 were born in Colorado. Rilla's mother Rebecca A. Ward 73 born in Ohio is with them, six childen, five still living.

Patented Oct. 24, 1911. To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ELMER E. WARD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Colorado Springs, in the county of El Paso and State of Colorado, have invented a new and useful Mop-Wringer, of which the following is a specification.
The object of the invention is to provide an article of this character which shall possess all of the desirable qualities necessary to the production of an eflicient implement, . namely lightness, compactness, simplicity, ease of operation, ease of adjustment, and of a construction that will permit of its being inserted under articles of furniture lying comparatively close to the floor.
A further object is to provide a combined mop and wringer, in which the positioning of the mop will be facilitated, the wringing of the same easily accomplished, and in which both sides of the mop may be utilized for doing effective work.

In 1920 Salt Lake City, Elmer is a hardware salesman, 59, Brilla 58, sister Lydia 40 a stenographer born in Ohio.

In 1930 Long Beach, California, Elmer is 70, widowed, living with daughter Alta W. Conway 39, widow managing a cafeteria.

(In 1926 Anaheim, Alta M. Conway (wid J.W.) lives at 311 W 10th.

Elmer 1860-1931 is buried in Santa Ana # 34921620, with Berilla A. Ward 1861-1928 # 34921606.

Henry W. Ward cash-claimed a quarter in 22, 8S 50 W in 1909,
Russel W. Ward proved up two quarters in 21 and 32, 9S 49W in 1914.
