In 1860 Brown County, Ohio, Theodore H. and Thornton H. Thomas are both 8, with Christian M. 55, farming and Wilhelmina 45, Wm. L. 19, Charles L. 17, Mariah L. 14, Frank M. 12, Sharlot 10, Alma H. 6, and Augusta 4.

1892 Louisville, Kentucky "The above picture represents a remarkably unique and unusual
partnership. Theodore H. Thomas and Thornton H. Thomas are twins, and in all part of Colorado
they are known as partners in law, partners in property, partners in speculation, in money,
in the every-day large and small affairs of social life, and partners in everything with
undisputed equality, save one - Theodore is a married man and Thornton is a bachelor.
In all seasons of the year they dress exactly alike, from the sole of the shoe to the crown
of the hat; they have similar ideas and similar tastes: in all things there is such a
perfect agreement that one never questions the other, and they resemble so much that
one is being constantly mistaken for the other. They were born in Augusta, Bracken county,
Ky in 1852, the sons of Christian L. Thomas, who cultivated a vineyard on the Ohio.
They were educated in Augusta. Thornton was admitted to the bar at Augusta in 187? and
Theodore in l875. In the fall of that year the two brothers went to St. Louis,
where they practiced law till 1880, when they went to Colorado, locating in
Gunnison City. Here, in connection with J. M. McDongal.... of Kentucky,
they followed their profession, clearing about $ 0,000 a year until 1885,
when Theodore was elected Attorney General. Thornton remained in Gunnison till the
expiration of his brother's term of office, when he came to Denver,
and the two brothers settled down for a permanent residence in the city.
They have a very large business in general law practice ......
mining property, granite and ..... that may be safely estimated at $200000 in value. Recently they have become interested in
promising mining properties at Creede, where Thornton is president of a Free Silver Club
numbering 800 members, and, although Republican, is strongly opposed to Harrison's nomination."

1905 "Cripple Creek, Colo, Oct. 9.- Judge Thornton H. Thomas of the county court granted to Mrs. Alice Seeds a decree of absolute divorce from Judge W. P. Seeds of the district court on the ground of extreme cruelty. Judge and Mrs. Seeds formerly resided in Dickinson county, Kansas, where he was probate judge for several years."

Thornton Henry Thomas, Jr. registered for WWI in Colorado Springs, born at Cripple Creek October 24, 18996. His father was born at Cripple Creek. He said his nearest relatie was his father at Nederland, COlorado.
Thornton Jr. is widowed in 1930 Denver, an athletic coach, with daughter Elizabeth 6 Colorado. His mother Lizzie 73 widowed is with them.
Richard Thomas' obituary includes "After his death, Hazel moved herself and Dick to Denver. She married Thornton Thomas"
Thornton married Hazel J. Moey on August 15, 1931, recorded in Denver.
In 1940 Thornton Jr. is back in Burlington, an attorney, with Hazel J. 43 born in Illinois.
Elizabeth W. 16 and Richard D. 14 are with them, and they have a hoouse maid.
Burlington Colorado obituary: Following graduation, Helen Schierman began working at the Law Office of Thornton H. Thomas remaining there until 1946.
Thornton H. Thomas 1897-1973 and Hazel J. Thomas 1896-1996 are buried in Burlington.

Council Grove, Kansas, August 22, 1902 "Christian L. Thomas in the early part of the last century settled in Augusta, Brucken county, Kentucky. To his family there were nine children born five boys and four girls. These nine children, survive him whose combined ages now aggregate 484 years, assembled from various parts of the United States, and yesterday gathered around an
old-fashioned family dinner table at the residence of Attorney Thornton H. Thomas at Cripple Creek.
This remarkable family is composed of Captain W. L. Thomas, of Ohio, who is the owner of a
steamboat plying on the Ohio river; Mrs. M. L. Johnson, of Newark, N. J.; Charles L. Thomas, of Dwight, Kan.,
an old soldier voted a medal for personal bravery during the civil war;
Frank W. Thomas, of Cortez, Colo., Lottie D. Thomas, of Newark, N. J.; Mrs. Arthur A. Johnson,
Newark, N. J.; Mrs. George B. Adams, of Irvington, G. J.; Theodore H. Thomas, of Denver,
and Thornton H. Thomas. Three of these brothers came to Colorado more than twenty years ago
and have been useful and honored citizens of our state. Frank W. Thomas was one of the first
county commissioners of Montezuma county, and is now a prosperous farmer of that county.
Theodore H. Thomas has been attorney general of the state of Colorado and a state senator.
Thornton H. Thomas had been one of our citizens for years, and one of the leading members
of the bar of Teller County....Upon this interesting occasion Mrs. Thornton H. Thomas presented each
of the children with a Cripple Ceeek souvenir spoon. -Cripple Creek Times.
To this remarkable family there have been born thirty-seven children
and grandchildren, all living. It has been nearly thirty-five years since this family ...

January 6, 1916 Wray "Mrs. David Thomas died at her home ten or twelve miles
southwest of Wray last Tuesday after an illness of only a few days with the
la grippe. The departed had been in ill health for more than a year with a
chronic trouble and was unable to withstand the severe attack of the other
malady. Mrs. Thomas is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Smith and has
lived in this neighborhood since early childhood, and was held in high esteem
by all those who knew her, and she will be greatly missed from the family
circle and the many friends join with the bereaved relatives in mourning her
departure. Clara Levesta Smith was born July 31, 1874, in York county, Nebraska,
and came to Wray in 1885 with her parents. She was married to David Thomas in 1893, and to them
was born one child, Bertha May, who survives the mother and is now fifteen years of age.
The departed leaves to mourn her loss, the husband, daughter, father and mother,
and two sisters and four brothers, all living in this locality.
The Rattler joins with the many friends of this bereaved family in extending
to them sincerest sympathy."
1894 Montezuma, Colorado " Thornton Thomas, brother of F. W. Thomas came down from Cripple Creek
with his family to visit a few days. Mrs. _Thomas’ sister, Miss Winters of Pagosa Springs
accompanied them."
1918 Montezuma Colorado "John Wilson and daughter, Mary left this morning for Denver and
Kremmuing, where they will visit Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Thomas for a couple weeks."
