In 1888 A.D.C. Stacy sold $10.40 worth of hay to the state of Iowa.
March 24, 1898 " Mr. Stacy sold his cattle, three car loads, to J. H. Howe recently at 4
cents and tells of Jake's experience with the bunch ,with a jest.
Mr. Stacy accompanied Howe to the Omaha market with the shipment and watched the cattle
through the sale—Jake profited exactly $1.41 on the deal."
May 19, 1898 Glenwood, Iowa "Mrs. Nora Stacy wife of Jesse Stacy died at the home of A. D. C. Stacy last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Stacy have been residents of Fremont, Neb., until last fall when they moved to Lincoln, at which place the deceased was taken ill; as her illness grew more serious she was moved to the home of her father-in-law where she recently passed away. In 1910 Kit Carson County, Alfred T. C. Stacy is farming, married 49 years to Helen, both 69 born in Ohio. She's had nine kids, seven living. Edgar grandson 12 born in Nebraska, and daughter Bertha 29 Ohio.

June 1912 Burlington " A. D. C. Stacy of Pacific Junction, Iowa, arrived
Wednesday morning and will spend a few dnya here looking after business
matters. Mr. Stacy formerly resided east of town."
John B. Stacy proved up a quarter in 11, 7S 43W in 1912.
In 1920 Mills County, Iowa, Alfred and Ellen have only Jessie F. 54 with them.
Alfred D. Carwin Stacy 1840-1920 is buried in Mills County, Iowa # 34617011, with Ellen (Marshall) Stacy 1841-1923.
John Brown Stacy 1876-1950 is also buried in Mills County, # 35187799, with Elizabeth (Allumbaugh) Stacy.
Kit Carson Stacy 1908-1990 is buried in Boone County, Nebraska # 17921497, with Madge E. 1908-1971 # 17921489, sons Carson L. and Vernon C.
Edgar Stacy 1897-1963 is buried in Concord, California # 87344462 - mother's maiden name Lennox.
E.W. Stacy, 23 (Has to be Elmer) and Elizabeth Williams, 18, married March 8, 1896 at Glenwood, Iowa, witness A.D.C. Stacy.
NETTIE
October 19, 1893 Mills County Journal "Mrs Nettie Goodell, daughter of Mr and Mrs ADC Stacy,
and wife of Frank Goodell, died at her home Oct loth, 1893, at the age of 30 years and eleven
months. She had given birth Oct 4th to twin boys, and seemed to be doing finely, but in some
way took cold. She leaves besides these, three little girls under nine years of age.
She was a member faithful and much beloved in tho M E church. Both her parents, also four
brothers and three sisters mourn her death. Her husband who has hardly known a father,
will have beside the above, a godly mother, one sister and two brothers to turn to in this
trying hour. Surely he needs and will have the tenderest sympathy and prayers of all
the good people of Glenwood in this hour of affliction. Best of all he knows and trusts
the Comforter."

In 1900 Mills County, "Ellsworth Leacon" is 38, "Emena" 30, with Shirley D. 6, Laurence D. 4, Harold E. 3, and Tressa 1.
In 1910 Emma is in Mills County, 40, married to I.E. Deacon 45 born in New Jersey, farming. They have son Shirley 16, Dudley 14, Harold 13, Blanche 11, Zula 9, Ruth 7, and Clayton 3.
They're in Mills County in 1920, and in 1930 are truck farming in Alamosa County, Colorado with Eugene 19 and Paul 15, both born in Iowa. I.E. is 68, Emma 60.
Emma Leora (Stacy) Deacon 1869-1933 is buried in Monte Vista, Colorado # 97752445, with Isaac E. Deacon 1862-1937, # 97752447.
This must be a nephew of Isaac...."Longtime Monte Vista resident Warren "Hoot" Deacon died January 17, 2013 at the Colorado State Veterans Center at Homelake at the age of 91. Hoot was born in Glenwood, Iowa the son to H.E. “Mike” Deacon and Jane Burson Deacon. He married his wife Betty Roberts on Jan. 1, 1951 in Alamosa and she preceded him in death Jan. 1, 2013.
Hoot was a World War II Army veteran. He saw service in France, Germany and Belgium. At the end of the war he left the Army as a Corporal.
Hoot started the family business Deacon Insurance in 1963 and worked in Insurance until his retirement in 1974. In his younger years Hoot enjoyed fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed working in his yard and took great pride in keeping it as nice as possible. Hoot was a 32nd degree Mason through the Monte Vista Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his children Max (Karen) Deacon of Monte Vista, Mike (Vickie) Deacon of Eagle, Colo. and Tracy (David) Price of Phoenix, Ariz.; seventeen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Warren’s parents, his wife and daughter Karen David all preceded him in death.

Harold Ellsworth Deacon was born at Glenwood, Iowa, May 6, 1897 to I. E. Deacon born in Trenton New Jersey and registered for WWI in Glenwood, Iowa.
He married Jane Burson in Iowa, and in 1920 Glenwood, in Monte Vista Colorado in 1930, and 1940 they're in Monte Vista Colorado. Harold and Jane both 42, Hester 21, Warren 19, Harold 17, and Aellene 15.
He's buried in Monte Vista 1897-1982 # 97752446.
"Former Monte Vista resident, Allene B. Deacon Koontz, 84, died peacefully Aug. 8, 2007, at her home in Grand Junction.
Allene grew up in Monte Vista, attended the schools and graduated from Monte Vista High School. She was life-long member of the Methodist church. She worked at the theater and local bank before marrying Wayne Koontz, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Kay) Koontz, Galen (Judy) Koontz, Glenna Koontz, Genay Koontz Williams, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, one brother, Warren (Hoot) Deacon of Monte Vista and one sister Hester Deacon Tubbs of Tampa, Fla.

"Hester M. Tubbs, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2014. Hester was born in Glenwood, Iowa, on November 2, 1918, the oldest of 4 children born to the late Jane and Mike Deacon. Her family moved to Monte Vista, Colorado, in 1925, where she was raised. She became a staff sergeant in the US Army during WW II.
She married Arthur Tubbs in November 1949 and moved to Tampa in 1952. She was the owner/director of Kiddieland Kindergarten in South Tampa from 1957 til 1971. She was a past President of the Hillsborough County Pre-School Association, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Palma Ceia Chapter #243, and the American Legion Post #139. Hester loved her family and took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She loved watching sports and enjoyed playing bingo and Bunco every week. She was known for her kind and thoughtful attitude. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Tubbs and her siblings Harold Deacon, Allene Koontz and Warren (Hoot) Deacon. She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Peggy Smith (Tom) and Harold "Scooter" Tubbs (Cheryl) of Tampa and her wonderful grandchildren SSgt. Ashley Lynn Tubbs, USAF (McChord/Lewis, Washington), Michael Arthur Tubbs (Tampa) and Douglas Arthur Hamric, (Tampa). She will be dearly missed by her family and friends but remembered for her love, her strength, her joy of life and the respect and kindness she showed to all. "
Daughter Blanch Theresa Deacon, born February 2, 1899 married John Henry "Muffler" in Council Bluffs, Iowa April 28, 1923.
Their son Daniel Clayton Muffley was born Dec 18, 1930 at Phoenix. John was a plumber.
She died in Phoenix, Arizona November 6, 1959, to be buried in Memory Lawn. Her husband Mr. John Muffley was the infomant.
John died in 1962.
JESSE
Jesse Fremont Stacy, age 71, married Fannie V. Little, 68 in Parma, New Madrid County, Missouri, on Sept 21, 1937.
He died July 12, 1949 in Oroville, California, and is buried in Mills County.

Lenora (Lenox) Stacy 1874-1898 is buried in Glenwood, on the same stone as Jesse # 34617231. They had married November 8, 1893.
BERTHA
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p. m. Saturday In Raynor Chapel for Bertha Bess Rainey, who died June 27, 1955 at the Good Samaritan Rest Home at Tabor. The Rev. William Lee, pastor of
the First Christian Church, officiated. Burial was in Glenwood cemetery. Music was by Mary E. Logan. Pallbearers were Harry Rainey, Dale Jackson, William Stacy, Ora Benedict, Clell McKlnney and James Scott, Jr. Flower bearers were Phyllis Proctor and Mrs. Robert Carnes.
Bertha Bess Rainey, daughter of A. D. C. Stacy and Ellen Marshall Stacy, was born March 4, 1880 at Marietta, Ohio and died at Tabor, June 27, 1966, aged 75 years, three months and 23 days.
As a baby, she moved to Iowa with her parents and made her home here the rest of her life. On August 23, 1917, she was united in marriage to John Ellis Rainey. To this union one son was born, Alfred E. Rainey Of New Orleans, La.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, on March 3, 1927. She is survived by her son, M/Sgt. Alfred Rainey and many nephews, nieces and friends. She became a Christian early In her life and was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Sidney, Iowa.
