Charles died in Los Angeles County July 9, 1918.

Charles Edward Rich, born about 1902, married Helen Blanche Scheid in 1932 in California.

September 13, 1905 Walden, Colorado "Mr. Vernon E. Rich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rich of this city, died here at 9:30 this morning, after an illness of only a few days. Mr. Rich had been engaged in stacking hay at the Fred Hill ranch near Rand, and last Friday suffered a recurrence of an attack of sun stroke, which he received several years ago. His condition became at once alarming and he was brought to the home of his parents here. Saturday the doctors discovered that peritonitis had set in and though every aid was given the patient succumbed today. Mr. Rich leaves a wife, father, mother and two brothers. Clayton and Floyd Rich, both of Spicer, North Park, Colorado.
The deceased was a member of the Laramie Elk lodge. Interment will be in Walden cemetery Thursday afternoon."
