In 1880 Omaha, Frank Pivonka is 38, Madaliena 27, Mary 7, Joseph 5, and James 3. Mother-in-law Anna Echel ? 55 widowed born in Bohemia is with them.

In 1900 Omaha, Frank and Magdalena have a rooming house, with Joseph born July 1874 in Nebraska keeping a pool room, James
Joseph enlisted in the army in 1901 Omaha, discharged in 1904 at the Presidio, then enlisted at Ft. Crook in 1905, discharged in 1906.
When he was at the Hot Springs South Dakota veterans hospital his reference was mother Mag'l of 2445 S. 20th St, Omaha.
Joseph claimed a quarter in 34, 7S 43W in 1909.

In 1903 Omaha, "Magdalena Pivonka owns the large three-story building and other valuable property at Twenty-sixth and N streets and is aided in her suit against the Union Pacific by other resident freeholders."

In 1910 Atchison County, Missouri, Joseph Pivonka is farming, 33, born in Nebraska, married two years to Anna 24 Wisconsin, have Joseph one month born in Missouri. Stepmother Anna Bergans 60 born in Bohemia is widowed.

1910 Omaha "James Pivonka of Missouri, is visiting in South Omaha, called hee by the dangerous injury to his brother, Joe Pivonka."

There was another Joe Pivonka in Omaha, as July 16, 1914 "Joe Pivonka, former police commissioner of South Omaha, dropped dead on the streets of that city from heart failure."


Anna Pivonka, per # 159360706, is buried in Omaha, dying May 27, 1917 age 30.
But there's a Anna Bergaus Pivonka # 93072980 buried in La Crosse, Wisconsin 1886-1917 "Daughter of Jan Bergaus and Agnes Janoch. Married Joseph Pivonka around 1908. Mother of five children. She died from "inflammation of the bowels" in St. Joseph, Missouri.
An obituary for Anastasia Bergaus Pivonka was published in the La Crosse Tribune on 7 July 1917"

Joseph registered for WWI in Omaha, born July 16, 1875, a steam fitter, living with Magd Pivonka at 2445 S. 20th Avenue.

In 1920 Omaha, Joseph is widowed, 43, with Norena 5 born in Missouri. They're living with his mother Madaline Pivonka 69 born in Bohemia, immigrating in 1871, naturalized 1875.

" The Prague Hotel, 1402 South 13th Street, Omaha, NE. Built by The Omaha Brewing Association (later the Storz Brewing Company) in 1898. Joe Pivonka ran the operation for the Storz Brewing Company and in 1915, purchased the hotel from the brewery."


There's a Joseph Pivonka, a private in the Nebraska 10th Infantry, buried in Grand Island, dying June 23, 1943, # 39804418.

In 1930 Omaha, Joseph "Pivanka" is 52, lodging with the TheffordFlorence Agnes Phillips /Tyler/Parker was born Dec 25, 1914 at Watson Missouri to Joseph Pivonka and Anastacia Bergauls, dying April 29, 2004.

Magdalena 1849-1924 is buried in Omaha # 61824217, with Frank 1839-1905 # 61824231.
